Well I'm a bit pissed off at the moment. I just spend around 4 hours playing a large/Maso/Abundant map, nearly to completion (and mil conquest victory), when the game crashed out on me. When I tried to reload the autosaves the tech screen that comes up from an autosave was blank, and the background that the stars/ships etc are normally on was all red. When I tried to click to the menu the game crashed again. *sigh* There goes several hours work and 40-60k Metaverse points.

A fundy event did lessen the acheivement for me, but all it would have done is prolonged the game by a few turns (it came late, once the game had already been decided).

Well well, After having well and truly trounced the Crippling AI on both a tiny and a large map (with sub-optimal picks) I think it may be time for me to move up to Maso. The last game I played I went Industrialists, +50 social production, +50 military production, +10 pop growth. I absolutely whalloped the 5 Genius AI players. I now know why selling tech has been eliminated on Maso difficulty. It really does make the game dead simple. But for now, it's time for bed :).

Hey Sirian, while I would like to take credit for such a gigantic score on such a low difficulty level, if you look at my profile, you will see that I have acheived two wins thus far. One on normal (with a couple of ctrl+n's since it was my first game and I wanted to get at least 3 worlds), and one on challenging (with no ctrl+n's). The second game was.... odd. Brotherhood, a slight correction, ANZAC stands for the Australia and New Zealand Army Corps. The biggest and most strategic victory that the ANZACs made was when the 4th and 12th Lighthorse Regiments (800 Lighthorse Infantry) stormed the well of Beersheeba in WWI, taking the city alone, against 4000 fortified Turkish troops. Ha, I doubt I'll be able to pull that off Sirian. You can't go past 2190 in the demo, and none of the expansion units are in it either. So all I can do is guage how well I am doing in relation to the other races. Up until crippling I've been first in pop, economy, and very close to the leader in military and tech at game end (or very close to it). What I'll probably do is play a game at each of the difficulty levels until I find my comfortable level and then play 1 higher than comfortable.

I'm counting the days until Christmas. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. It appears to me to be a modern version of MoO 1 without some of the things that bugged me about that game (pop transfer micromanagement anyone?). Vincible - that is something that we did not set up on the RB forums. The way around it is to just refresh the page. Unfortunately it appears that Network 54 (who is currently hosting our forums) is going to start charging us for useage. When that happens a new forum home will probably be found.
