Yesterday Matt and I transplanted the pumpkins seedlings into his garden. There were a lot of ants around and so he sprayed them. I hope they won't come back and bug the plants. Today we tried to transplant the carrots, but realized it was a bad idea to start them in a planter first. There are too many and they are too small to transplant, so they just ended up in

I just found out yesterday (May 19th) that the reason you don't like potato bugs is because to you, potato bugs are something else. In Salt Lake, the bugs about which I wrote are called Potato Bugs. However, someone told me that a real potato bug is totally different and that other people call the bugs known as potato bugs to me "rolly pollies" or something like that. So that might explain some things to you. Sorry for the mix up.

Today is the day that Matt and I would have been married, if we had continued our engagement. During class this morning at 8:55, he said, "Five minutes". We would have been married at 9 AM. At nine, he flashed the "I love you" sign at me. It's sad to think that we could be together forever as of today, but maybe there's more out there for us. Maybe we have more t

I have been working my tail off, and getting spoiled by Matt. Last week he wouldn't let me help him while he grilled pork chops and potatoes, prepared olive oil dip for toasted French bread, and made spaghetti. Wow, it was so good. Then we went and played tennis with two kids who were already at the court and then alone and it showed me how long it's been since I l

Wow! Things are so great and yet not so great! Yesterday Jeff had a meningitis scare, but he's fine now. I had Mom cut off my awful hair and now it doesn't look bad. The funny thing is, Matt and I met for lunch downtown at Rowdy's Loco Amigoes, and I hadn't told him about the cut. When I pulled up, I saw that he had cut his as well! I was kind of disappointed be

Phew, final exams are over! I am now doing much better, my laryngitis is gone. Matt and I have re-evaluated our relationship several times on account of me going on a date tomorrow. Apparently while we were talking things out yesterday, my mom eavesdropped, because last night she was practically interviewing me and it really annoyed me. Anyway, my earthquakes and

In general, I would just like to say that these past few weeks have been stressful, probably leading to the illness I have now! Working at the new job is interesting. The modified Dewey Decimal system was confusing at first, but I finally have it down, but looking at all the numbers in passing and turning around trying to reshelve these over-classified books makes m

Yesterday I killed a spider and today I saved a potato bug. What makes us despise spiders so much, and yet we see a potato bug and instantly we want to hold it in our hands? I think it has to do with the timidity of the potato bug as compared to that of the spider. A spider is not afraid to make a sudden move or to jump on you and the thought of not knowi

Matt took me to get my allergy shots yesterday, and then we drove down State Street looking for cars, and I told him to pull over to look at a red jetta (I have my heart set on a Jetta, but I don't really want red!). I looked inside, and it was an automatic. BLECH! I don't like or want an automatic. So, I turned around, and there, in the midst of many other cars,

I broke up with Matt on Monday. It was so hard to do. I love him so much, and don't ever want to lose him, but I just know that it's not right for now! He cried on my shoulder, and we hugged for about an hour and he kept asking me why, but I have no better reason to tell him than what I mentioned previously. I'm glad he did cry, though, because it shows me that he

Okay, two things: First, the bad news: I just did something SO STUPID! You know how I just freeze up when confronted or on the phone or whatever? I was sitting in the Social Behavioral Science building in the level that only has elevators (so that I could be alone and have some quiet), and this dude came down (probably a graduate student or profe

Matt drove me through some used car places yesterday, and you know how salespeople are, sticking to you like glue. This guy flagged us down as we were leaving, asked about Matt's car and for what we were looking and said that if I left my name and number he would find it and contact me. I told him a jetta as new as possible, because the loan interest rate gets hig

I skipped my Latin class today so that I could do a better job finishing my project, and I DID write a little note explaining why some days were missing. It seems like so long ago now that I was engaged and I had a RING and yeah. So I was walking today with Matt and I was eating those handisnack things and not paying attention to where I was walking and suddenly I p

I'm starting to think like a linguist with all the things I'm learning from my Linguistics classes - I heard this little kid talking to his mom, and I thought, "Wow, he's got his auxiliaries already. Is he that old?" I'm also noticing a lot of backchanneling - it's pretty interesting, but making it a lot different for me when responding to people in conversations.

Matt told me on the phone that I needed to read my email - he obviously didn't want to tell me over the phone. I finally got around to reading it (I was at work) and it said that he had read my BLOG and thought the articles were interesting. I had never even told him the address or anything, so he must have found it. All I did was talk about posting something now a

Today, our pilates work out was tough! Man, I was groaning and huffing and finally she let us stop - yay for the abs and obliques! During creative writing, we got an assignment to watch people and write down their weird quirks, so when we went to do that, I translated the paragraph for the test in Latin, and it turned out to be pretty easy. Then during Latin, I cha

Yesterday Mom and I got in a fight - she kept criticizing me for everything, even when she told me to just tell her what I needed and what I thought. So finally I just walked away crying and went and waited on the porch - Emily (my ride) never came, so I had to go inside and call Matt. I'm so glad to have him. He comforted me and just listened. While at school, I

Friends who are different ARE a lot of fun, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you should adopt their beliefs. You can accept them as they are, and show them what you believe by your example. I love that you have a firm faith in our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. If you pray to them for comfort, they will help you because of their love for you. As you improve yourself, you will find that things improve around you. Have you tried reading som

The Family History Library keeps calling me, but I'm never home. What if they give up and choose the next person? (Or maybe they're just calling to let me know that they don't want to hire me.) Anyway, I took my Linguistics and Universe tests today. I think they went okay. It's so great to study with JonR, otherwise I wouldn't study. Also, I appreciate the Hotte

The doctor said that everything should be fine yesterday and to swish liquid Motrin. I've never heard of that. He said to try Lycene, too. Mom told me that the Family History Library called - maybe I got the job! I keep trying to call back, but no one is answering. The one time someone did answer, it wasn't Marcy, so it scared me and I froze up and didn't say any

I'm concerned, because last night I showed my mom my canker, and she couldn't believe it and had my dad get a flashlight and look at it. So, I went and looked closer and it is HUGE and all over! It is on the side of my mouth and in the little "gutter" thingy and on the other side, it looks nasty, and it's making my jaw hurt too! She told me to call the doctor today

The time of year when women get that urge to re-dye their hair is about the time Jonathan said, "I love girls. I love the springy colors - the pinks! So many pinks! I love that they wear less clothing. I also hate this time of year for the same reason - it makes me deeply aware that I have no girlfriend." And we walked, and the sun

So, Matt and I stayed in town for spring break, and it was so great! I ended up not going back to work, and I enjoyed myself immensely. I got so much done, I felt so happy about it. I practiced the piano, sewed some things I've been meaning to sew - which, by the way, I now wonder what inspired me to get such a loud fabric for the jumper (it is bright orange with h
