Well, upgrading did nothing new, so my original question remains. Why are some of the bootskin files names .ini files and some .bootskin? When I first started using Bootskin and downloaded some from WinCustomize they were all .ini files. Now they are all .bootskin files which don't seem compatible with the Bootskin program. Only the .ini files with accompanying .bmp files seem to work with either version (1.0 and 1.5) Files named .bootskin do not appear as available when I

Never thought of that since I've think I've only had version 1.0 for about 6 months.... did the upgrade to 1.05, will see if that solve my issues. Thanks for the reply.

I have Bootskin 1.0 and have one applied now that works fine. I've been looking for some different ones so I downloaded one with a .bootskin extension. The others I have downloaded that work fine have a .ini extension. I open Bootskin and IMPORTED the new one I just downloaded (ISeeYou.bootskin)into the Bootskin program. It tells me the import was successful but the new one does not appear in the list in the Bootskin program. Instead a file named ISeeYou.tmp was created in the folde

Thanks for the help! I figured what Cygnus said is what the deal was but just wanted to make sure. Probably is laziness on Norton's part but I will say it has caught a number of viruses for me, so I'm glad I have it installed! I get 300-350 spam and junk e-mails a day with all kinds of virus attachments so I can't be without it! Thanks again!

DesktopX Widgets - "Malicious Script" in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

I looked for a possible answer to this problem here but did not find one. I recently purchased DesktopX and downloaded some widgets. Some work fine but others (such as Weather.exe) causes my Norton Internet Security to kick in and say that my computer has been halted due to a malicious script. I feel pretty confident that this is not malicious, but want to make sure it's okay to let the script run - I would imagine this script needs to access some weather place somewhere in order to display th

I've noticed that in many of my WindowBlinds that the User Name on the Start menu is often "out of position" depending on which blind I'v applied at any given time. Can anyone tell me which function in the Windblinds uis file changes this position? There's a lot of references to text alighment and positioning so I have no clue which one might adjust the position of the User Name on the Start menu. Sometimes it displays fine, sometimes it's way off, depending on the blind. I don't display use

I know, another question from me in two minutes! I use Cursor XP. I'm wondering why, when I apply a cursor set via Cursor XP, I still see like a Windows XP "regular cursor" sometimes. Mostly during boot up I'll see a cursor that looks like a horse running, then one that looks like a barbershop pole... probably standard cursors for Win XP. I use WB4 and have downloaded some new Windowblinds. Problem is, they don't appear in the list of available windowblinds when I use the WindowBlinds program. I tried Fuzzy Logic's suggestion but the user image I previously set still shows. I have often made mini versions to go with my scheme but sometimes I just don't want to see a user image at all. Did I do something wrong in WB? Seemed pretty clear cut but didn't work... TIA

Does anyone know how to NOT USE the user image in Windows XP? I have WindowBlinds and many times, my dumb user image interferes with the beauty of the skin. Sometimes I create my own user image to match my wallpaper but there's times when I would like NO user image to appear at all.... Too dumb a question or what?? TIA

Thanks for the reply but I guess I wonder what the serial number would have to do with anything considering this all started with a notice that there was an update to Stardock Central... I dunno... I also just noticed that none of my programs (IconDeveloper, IconPackager,WindowBlinds and Cursor XP) don't show up as installed programs in Stardock Central when they used to BEFORE the update. Seems to me that Stardock Central blew a fuse on its own update!!
