1) Does it matter to you that some of your friends are not religious? No, I don't do religions, I do faith. I am a Christian with very eclectic beliefs. 2) After you have known someone for a while, do you care about his/her appearance? I don't put a lot on appearance. Have you ever noticed how some people seem cuter to you after you get to know and like them and others you thought were so cute can lose that cuteness when their per

stevendedalus- yes, I think of it as good now. I am a firm believer in happy mediums and I am a firm believer that the search for happiness is not the path. People put so much importance on happiness, when it is actually a brief feeling at most. It is not meant to last. Contentment is the path.

GemCityJoe - The reason I asked you that is because I would guess from the title and the fact that it was written with Vietnam Vets, is that it is making a statement. It was a much different time then, as you know. I have formed no opinion about Kerry yet, and I have not read the book, so I will not judge the book. And if the point is that the upside down flag is a symbol of distress, that makes even more sense. I fly the Seal of the Cherokee Nation an

You keep writing the articles that I keep wanting to read! I was talking to a friend once about my philosophies on happiness and on happy medium and he talked to me about Buddha. He told me that I was the closest to this idea of any person he'd met. I wasn't sure if this was good or bad. This is another great post!

When I was at the Library the other day, I picked up a pamphlet that caught my eye. It was called "Where do your taxes go?" According to this, if you had $1,500.00 deducted from your paycheck for the fiscal year 2004 and they went directly to expenses, it would be like this: $393.00 military, $339.00 interest on national debt, $285.00 healthcare, $83 income security, $51 veterans' benefits, $48.00 education, $38.00 nutrition spending, $24.00 housing, $24.00 environmental protection, $6.00 jo

BakerStreet- I mind a LOT of things. I notice you sigh a lot, BakerStreet. Maybe you should get that checked. :) Wahkonta Anathema- I read these quotes to my sister and the ones on the link by Bush Sr. I haven't heard her laugh that hard in a long time! But I also read them to my 22 year old daughter who is taking everything in and has friends in the military. I've asked her if she'd like to write a few blogs here and she is considering it. Sometimes you can just see her absorbing all t

You know what BakerStreet? It is not old hat to me. I can't sit here behind Maggie shrugging my shoulders saying, ahh, it's old hat, the guy is human. I don't want a puppet that can't even speak when someone doesn't pull his strings. And I don't want Americans to keep dying under the guise of WMD while we sit here with an old attitude. I don't think I'm asking for too much.

BakerStreet- There may an element of just humanness in some of these quotes, but you certainly can't say that about the quotes on weapons of mass destruction. And since he is the President of The United States, don't you think we should expect him to be able to think and act on his feet? You really think he is a Joe Normal kinda president?

jeff allison- Thank you for the link! Wahkonta Anathema had mentioned to me before starting a blog group, maybe this would be a good thing! Would you and/or stevendedalus be interested in something like that?

Forgive my naivety, but if our blog sites belong to us, so much so that we accept the terms of use, and so much so that we even have the comments to our articles, wouldn't it be us that are pursued in a lawsuit and not JoeUser.com? I realize this is a rule now that is being enforced here, and as a rule to use the services, we accept it or leave, I'm just trying to understand the legal part of it all.

Brad Wardell- On the subject of copyright and ownership, JoeUser.com claims no ownership to what we write, but what is the situation with the comments on our articles? Do the comments become kind of like emails to us and are they definitely our property as well?
