In a motel. I decided to order dinner from Domino's. I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I ordered their BBQ chicken wings. Just say no! These things suck moose tit through a straw. They are soggy. That is the best word I can use to describe them. The worst chicken wings I have ever tried to eat. Simply terrible. I have eaten a lot of chicken wings in many places over the years and I can honestly say this

I am currently in Columbus, GA. I arrived here yesterday afternoon. I will be delivering a military vehicle to Ft Benning for a show on Tuesday, until then I am just taking it easy. There is a bar about a block down, and I visited it for a little while last night. I thought about going back tonight but I think I would rather just kick back in my room, enjoy a few bowls of pipe tobacco, and let my injured toe heal. This morning I visited a local pipe shop and picked up a new Pe
It is sad that a child died at the hands of stupid parents. As for eating meat, it is the natural way of things. All living things survive on the death of other living things. Herbivores survive by killing plants, the rest of us survive by killing plants, animals, or both. That is just the way nature works and we are part of nature whether certain nuts think so or not. We are built to eat both and it is perfectly natural that we so do. Necessary in fact. Our intelligence does not exempt us fr
Thanks, Guy. Perhaps the gods are angry, or perhaps it is just a case of shit happens. Either way, sometimes things just suck.
Yesterday morning I and another driver delivered a couple of military trucks on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, right in front of the Capitol Building. Needless to say, getting in and out of that area in a couple of big rigs is no simple matter. The problems were somewhat compounded by less than perfect directions. I have been in DC many times and so knew a bit about where we were going, but when we reached the point where we were told to turn left onto 3rd Street SW off of Independenc

Thanks, folks. I delivered the PA stop on time yesterday, and am on my way to deliver a military truck to a show in DC. I stopped in Carlisle, PA and killed some time, taking the afternoon and night off for additional rest and relaxation.
I had been feeling pretty tired and run down of late. Work has been fairly busy and I just haven't had much in the way of down time. I have been holed up in a motel for the past two days just catching up on my rest. I have to say that I feel much better. I had wondered if I wasn't coming down with some bug or other, but a bit of rest seems to have been just what the doctor ordered. I really should have left out at some point today as I need to be in Milford, PA 8:00 am Monday
Firefox opens pretty fast for me, so not sure about that 5 minute thing. It is my browser of choice. I have never liked Internet Exploder and refuse to use it. I agree about Chrome being slow. I think it stinks.

Our rights are clearly spelled out in the Federal and state constitutions. Those are the only rights we have. Everything else is laws, regulations, and assorted privileges. Even F.D.R., that hero of the Left, was opposed to public sector unions and for good reason. While I don't especially care for private sector unions, I don't see anything basically wrong with organized private sector workers, but at no point should there be unionized government workers.
I think he isn't having a "meltdown" and is simply entertaining himself by toying with the press and public who were recently trashing him over his trip to the hospital. Kind of a "give them what they want" thing. Remember, he tried to quit that show a while back because he was tired of doing it and they begged him to stay and threw more money at him. I think he deliberately got the show canned because he didn't want to do it any more. I could be wrong and he is going through
Nah, write/talk about what ya want. I was in a bar in PA tonight. On the ceiling was written some very offensive racist stuff, but the jerk who wrote it misspelled the word "nigger" (he spelled it nigar). Tells you the intelligence of such people. I pointed it out to a black fellow. He read it and burst out laughing. We had a good conversation about the people who think that way. It just goes to show you that even racist assholes can be a source of interesting c
IF the facts are accurate, they should have been convicted of much more serious crimes. But then, I wasn't there and don't know how things really went down.
I am hanging out in Carlisle, PA this weekend waiting to pick up at the Army depot in Chambersburg, PA Monday morning. I bobtailed down to Boswell's pipe shop in Chambersburg this morning. Boswell is a world famous maker of hand carved pipes and I have wanted to visit there for a long time. I was impressed with how friendly the staff was and wound up spending a good deal of time there looking over their pipes and tasting their tobacco blends. I wound up buying two pipe
Thanks, folks. Yeah, the full time RV helps  I do try to keep myself edjumicated on A-Z. I do miss my mother, but do not miss my former home. I take life as it is and do not waste time on recriminations or on wishing the world would be as I want instead of what it is. I share a lot of world view with Ayn Rand in that regard, I refuse to view life as anything short of what it is. I am currently in PA. It was raining when I got here but now it is snowing. Yuck. I have already shaved
Thanks, Guy, my friend.
LOL they're starting to fight back.
Sounds like you're feeling a little better about blogging. Do you still have your house in Fla. or did you sell it.
I sold it last year. I am officially homeless.
On Friday I picked up a military truck at a trade show in Ft Lauderdale, FL. It is going to Ft Benning, GA. Unfortunately, I can't actually deliver it until Tuesday morning. I took my time driving up here, stopping in Bradenton, FL for the night where I took a cab over to a sports pub that has the Buzztime Trivia game. Normally you use a Playmaker to play the game, but I installed a Playmaker app on my iPad that allows me to log in and play right from my iPad instead of using their ma
Thanks, folks. I doubt that I will stop writing entirely, I was simply expressing a certain... lack of interest in it at the moment. I am sure it will pass.
Thanks for the replies. I doubt I will stop posting entirely, I have just lost some of my interest in it. It is probably just a "phase". You never know, I may become inspired and go back to writing stories from the road at some point. It could happen. Anyway, thanks again.
Ok, I haven't been posting as often as I used to post. I have received a (very) few messages requesting posts. Part of the reason I haven't been posting is just work stuff, but to be honest the biggest part has just been blog ennui. Basically, I have just been bored with the whole thing. Between the time it takes to write an article, the effort it takes to track what should be noted, and the obvious lack of reader interest indicated by the number of comments, I just haven't felt compe
