Sometimes I too feel as if I am part of class, or group. Of course some people are more of a cliche than others for instance there might be 1000 people like me but someone else might have 100,000 people like them...

I think intelligence can be a liability when it causes one to have arrogance and possibly dismiss someones insight intentionally or not. Socrates once said " The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." That is something I try and remind myself of, though not always successfully.

I am not saying follow the words of scientists exactly, but we must include their view point and informed opinion when making policy in their field. Common sense would have us listening to the opinions of the experts in the field you are making a decision on. That is called an informed decision. So, in that light, I think you ar

I read this article on the truthout website along with Howard Deans article there accusing the Bush administration of using the current terror threats for an advantage. I also just wrote an article about all the misrepresentation in Bush's scientific policies which are substantial. Here's the link to truth out Link here is a link to my article Link

Another big issue that will soon start to impact the world is China's up and coming economic boom. Currently cars are selling like hot cakes over there. With their large population their increasing depedency on natural resources will only become greater causing even more reason to play close attention to our emissions.

I quote Einstein all the time. He is the ultimate role model, not only was he a genius but he was a philosopher and social personality. He wrote much about his views on politics, society, zionism, and the human condition.

Ok, this is what I am talking about some great replies by all of you. Politics have no place in the search for truth and as your post so notably states this is a political discussion not a scientific inquiry. Chris I see your point of view and agree that as far as the research it should never be biased and always allow f

Disclaimer: The following post is a compilation of a few allegations made by the Union of Concerned Scientists as well as tid bits from other facts that I came across while doing research. This post is meant to inform of the unethical scientific polices within the Bush administration.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun:

I said most adults don't understand. Most of them don't even though they say they do just like carebear said. SO that wasn't suppose to be offensive. But do think of it as you want to. Also i didn't want anyone getting mad. I'm 21 and speaking from a not too distant future for you teenagers here, I still regret thinking when adults (who clearly had more

Finally, a large majority of scientists agree that human activity contributes to warming. When I say this, I'm not citing the "trusted sources" that Brad loves to decry. I'm looking at what gets published in scientific journals. Which is why 60 prominent scientists are protesting this administrations policies so vehemently. It's

I knew exactly what he said it was in the article whose link I posted. It was my whole point, he was "personally attacked" for political gain. Even if he didn't add that much to the progress of the internet they made him seem crazy and delusional, like he stated he created the internet himself. They made him out to be a liar, which on the particular issue of the internet he wasn't. What data is there to discern from his statement? I personally think character def

The conservative ideology can be defined as believing freedom and rights cannot be compromised. A strong emphasis is placed on the individual and less on a strong Central government. Or basically don't fix what is not broken. As far as as Al Gore, my point was that information was skewed and misrepresented leading according to an exit poll done by ABC 74% of voters to think that Gore would "say anything" during the 2000 election.

I think there are other things that play a key role in who supports who. While I can easily state that the Washington Times and the New York Times are both influential on both sides there are other factors. Bush appeals to the religious right in this country. He is an established Born-again Christian, who admittedly talks to God before he reads the newspaper. This demographic yields a large influence in voting. I also think character assassination has been rampan

The general public supports Bush because the masses don't take time out to research things. For example the majority also started using the term "flip-flopper" because they heard that is what Kerry was. The majority of the public doesn't know that Kerry first said he would vote for the $87 billion dollar proposal if it was from rolling back tax cuts for the rich, that d

I do agree with your definition of personal attack though and once again I apologize for being overzealous. I really do think there are extremes on both sides and there are those that claim to be superior on both sides. For every Michael Moore this is a Rush Limbaugh, for every Howard Stern there is a Pat Robertson. True the media is very liberal but propaganda goes both ways...

don't think insight on particle physics makes someone any more authoritative on voting than my voluminous knowledge of Everquest, lol... But a scientist who is studying the effects of polution on global warming is important when it comes to environment policy.
