ok use this in the run [which found in the start menu - unless it is not configured - do properties for start menu and under customize be sure you have the run function for the start menu] Dxdiag will not just check the drivers - it will make a report so we can view what may be the problem. Pease go to the run in the start menu and type "dxdiag" and press enter. Then it will ask you a question about drivers to check and such. You can just say no to this and DircetX Diagnostic Tool screen will appear and load all the driver info. My quess is you are using a trial version and do not actually use a server as a role model. If you are! Then why are you using GUI with a server? It would be very un-needed by any stan-point. If you have plans to use that server properly - remove the themes and any type of graphics being used. OK Light Star and Wimpy here is what I found and I have a fix I beleive ... Open PSP and go to file/preferences/file format associations there select the file formats to be opened with PSP. Then go to SKS6 and go to tools/preferences on the advanced tab where it says "when editing use the following operation set this for OPEN. Ok this is not a fix - but it will stop the program. Open task manager and go to processes. There you will see explorer.exe . You will need to end this process. Don't be alarmed it will kill most everything you see except the task manager itself and stop the deskscapes from running. Then go to users tab in task manager and there is a logoff button at the bottom right. Logoff and it will take you to the login screen where you can log back in. Ok it sounds like you are trying to open a indexed file format. If in PSP when you save as PNG it is still indexed doing this. Try saving to a flat format to unindex the file by saving as a Jpeg image. Then you will need to open the image again and remove whatever background format is added via the Jpeg and then save as a PNG. Sounds wild right. But I'm fairly sure this is the problem. You will find this with PSP a lot for it opens the file no matter what. But it does not remove the indexing
