This might be a stupid question, but is there a structured central location that users can post ideas for objects? I've just been browsing the Konfab (coming to Windows very soon by the way) and Ave Desk sites and saw two great ideas. A Gmail notifier (really smooth with some transparency) from Konfab and desktop shortcuts that display text on the side similar to how OS X does it with drives and such.

That's the way it's always been though. I haven't seen a really original widget in some time. I think people are just out of ideas, practical ones at least. In regards to the overlay feature, it's nice but was acting strangely with whatever calendar object I was using (it would pop up at random and well just got in the way. I never figured it out so I just stopped using it. I was also expecting more of an elegant fade or something with the overlay versus a simple on off approach. A
Bring the OS and the Apps and then I'll build a 64-bit machine.
Awesome, looking forward to the results.
Definitely looking forward to PowerTune.
Still waiting on a video demo before I buy this.
Sure wish I could buy this separately.
It's just a shell nothing more.
YES TRILLIAN PLEASE!
Trillian for sure. I would love to see WB skin Trillian some how, maybe talk to the devs about the new Trillian 3.0 and work something out.
Septimus, the one Adobe program that really doesn't work well with WB for me is InDesign CS.
What version of the iTunes remote is that? http://skins.wincustomize.com/Diafragma/screenshots/alienlego.jpg
Well worth the cash for plus.
It would be nice to see some videos of this before I pay for it.
Just tried NeoShell and I didn't think I would like it but it's pretty nice.
Maybe you'll have some time now to make a demo video for Natural Desktop.
snowleopard77, I have a 3.0 P4, 1 gig RAM, GF4 Ti 4600, XP SP2 and I run many processor intensive tasks and neither of those programs degrade my systems performance. DesktopX 2.2 also uses Direct GUI, which takes virtually no CPU hit.
"But please have a popup blocker too in it, don't rely on the fact that SP2 already has that feature, as a lot of us don't have SP2 and nor do they want it..." I'm sorry, I really am but you are a fool for not installing SP2. >
I understand completely Thornz.
Thornz, I use PS, Premiere Pro, 3ds max, Illustrator, and game and never noticed the shadows slow anything down (I'm a game dev) in the least. What are your specs like?
I just need to clarify some things, please point out any errors you see as I'm not perfect. Aero = final presentation interface, we haven't seen this yet. Avalon = the engine behind it all, also being ported to Windows XP and Server 2003. LH themes we've seen so far = Plex, Slate, Jade, and this new "Glass" thing that is what we're talking about here with the transparent borders. <i
Thornz, I think the shadows are GPU accelerated not CPU so those programs you mentioned shouldn't really be affected much, unless you have a really low end card. I could be wrong though.
^Oh yeah, how?
I would be all for using shadows all the time for windows. I use WindowFX on and off but it's buggy for certain things and hasn't been updated in some time. WC2K5 sounds awesome, and this Web Explorer sounds very cool as well (using FX currently).
