Hey Everyone! Just giving a heads up that a new Beta Build has been released on SDCentral last night. If you're having problems, please make sure you have this newest version before posting issues. We tried to get as many of the major crashes fixed as we could, and also got to tweak some playability issues. Enjoy! :HOT: Notes for v0.11b BETA Release --------------------------------------- + We recommend disabling the autosave

The larger empire logo is just for the empire homeworld in tactical view. I think the problem may be some code that sets a overlay of city-lights based on the population. If it's below 500, it may get confused and just stop rendering the planet But since it's reproducable, it should be no problem getting it fixed <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN

Yeah, we were chatting about this idea earlier. I think it's really good and can be used to nicely balance the new paper/rock/sissors meathod of space battle. For example: Lets say your race has been researching alot of "Beam" weapon technology. You go up against a race that has been researching more "Mass Driver" technology. If you're the winner, and some debris is left behind, your surver ship can explore it and hopefully come across some useful info about

We will definatly be assigning Tactical Icons to everything, but right now it just works with certain ships. Also, the current sensor drone is a temporary model..the final one will be alot more recognizable.

Can you make sure the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming.net\GalCiv2\Gfx\Explosions" has "Explosion01.png" in it? Also, can you post your video card specs from "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming.net\GalCiv2\Debug.err" (towards the top of the file). Thanks!

Brad S: Looking at your specs I think It may just be kicking butt...does it feel sluggish, or is relativly snappy? (I would love to hear that people are getting 60fps )

Oh, no, that's a setting in the "Shortcut" that you'll need to make for the game. To do that, go to your "c:program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2" folder (or wherever the galciv2.exe is). Find the 'GalCiv2.exe' file, right lick and copy it, then right click in that same folder and select "Paste Shortcut". You'll now have made a shortcut to the EXE, so in that you right click, select Properties, and make the change to the "Target" field. <img src="http://im

Since we are in the 1st Phase of the Beta process, which we've sectioned off for perfomance testing and tweaking, I wanted to get a shout-out from you guys about how fast the game is actually running. To get the game to show your 'Framerate' window, just make a shortcut to the EXE, then in the shortcut's properties window, set " framerate" to the Target field. Now, when you boot up the game, you should have a nice little number (that hopefully hovers around 30) in your upper l

Yeah, the difference between the habitable and inhabitable planets is that we actually make a texture 'on-the-fly' that directly relates to the randomly generated surface. Looks like some people may have problems with that operation. What are your system specs, if you don't mind me being nosey?

Unfourtunatly the fellow that programs that also programs some of our other programs, so he's spread pretty thin right now. We'll keep you guys notified as to a ETA on that, but right now we'll have to suffer through the most recient version without auto-send support.

We have some work to do on leaving and returning to the game. Hopefully this'll get fixed sooner than later, but it's definatly an ongoing thing.

fuels cheif: Yeah, we're trying to get all the core issues worked out so you guys can get through a game. Unfourtunatly, by going to 3d we opened up a big friggin' can of worms that has to be delt with But I think we made the right choice (ship design as we know it wouldn't have been possible) and I know the rest of the team appreciates all the crap you guys are wading through to ge

Zoomba: Having the "mouse on edge of screen" scroll the map will definatly go in, but right now the arrow keys are used for controling the selected ships movement. I'm not against this idea though, in fact I often times want to use the keyboard to scroll around the map. Perhaps 'ASDW' for screen scrolling? P.Phoenix: Not at the moment, but get enough demand for something like that and I'm sure it will make it in <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Wi

Actually, that's just supposed to be the Intro music. It should be fading out once the game starts to load, but it's not, and then the regular game music isn't coming in afterwords That should be an easy fix, though.
