I don't think that the Palin bounce will hold through the debates. It's going to be close and it's going to come down to the debates. Based on where things are heading today and assuming that neither canidate implodes in the debates, Obama wins the popular vote 49/48. McCain wins the EC by taking Ohio and Virginia, Obama wins Colorado, PA, and MI. Margin is apporx. 12 EC votes, less if Obama takes Nevada. Edit: I think I miscounted and McCain needs MI

This was the essance of Adam Smith's unseen hand, and it applies to society as much as to economics. And in so far as the conservitives are more proponents of this philosophy than liberals, concervitives are the "true" liberals. Indiviuals are fine. It's the groups that worry me.

Is the Obama Camapign looking up No. While Palin was basically mentioned in passing by last nights speakers, Palin was all that CNN could talk about at the end of the night. IMO, if McCain "plays it safe" and picks someone that the Republican base pushes on him (like Romney), it will make the Dem's charge of "McSame" more believable and he will fall to the overall aproval ratings of a generic Republican. I still say Lieberman. 1) McCain and Liebrman are friends, McCain trusts him. 2) It throws the "change" how government is run arguement back in Obama's face. 3) Probably gives the Hillary voters someplace to go. My second choice is for McCain to pick a woman, maybe Palin.
