Installation Error - (Can't Install)

Installation Error - (Can't Install)

Hello I purchased Fences and I'm having trouble installing it on my new computer.
I have owned the software before in the past and never had any problems but now I continue to get the same error message popping up when I click on the installer file.

Restrictions
 
"This Operation has been cancelled due to the restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 
I looked up how to fix this and tried everything and still can't get it to work. Maybe you are familiar with this issue being that it's your software. I have installed many other pieces of software on this computer and never had any problems with anything. Just yours.

Has anybody seen this before or had this problem?
Please help.....
 
This is so frustrating because it's such a simple lightweight piece of software and always installs clean and fast on all my toher computers throughout the years...

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, are you trying to install on ARM base system? Fences is not compatible on ARM base system. Only x86 system (Intel or AMD).

No this is my home pc . A brand new Cyberpower pc gaming computer. This is no obvious reason why this should be happening...

There are two things I would like to you review:

1 Windows Update

  • Go to the Windows Update window, click on the link under the section that tells you if you are up to date or not, do not use the button on the right

2 Turn Off Controlled Folder Access

 

After these, see if can successfully install Fences

Try creating a new Admin account and installing under it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-20de74e0-ac7f-3502-a866-32915af2a34d

If it works, it will also be installed under your normal account.

THIS FINALLY WORKED YES YES YES LOL.... Ha I spent so much damn time trying to get this to work too... So a lil feedback ...

I followed the instructions here:

And then tried this...

Fixing the Registry

But at first I couldn't find "DisallowRun" So I went to the "Edit" tab at the top of the Registry Editor window and ran a search for "DisallowRun" as soon as it popped up I deleted it. Didn't even have to restart the computer just tried to run the installer file for Fences again and it worked!!!!!

So there is the answer....
