I got the same problem, it will be solved after:

1. Let Groupy 2 to use native tabs of explorer and notepad.
2. Stop the service of Groupy 2.
3. Uninstall the Groupy 2.

All the solutions will affect immediately without need of reboot.

My application version is at below:

1. Groupy 2 2.12
2. Notepad 11.2307.27.0

To solve this problem I uninstall and re-install the notepad from Microsoft Store, so my notepad is the newest and I don't know how to downgrade it.

And it's not always like that, I found it crashing after I update some hardware drive. After that happened I have tried to rollback them, but you know that, a drive is a drive, I can not be certain that I have rollback them thoroughly, and it just did not work as expected.

I tried notepad 2302.26.0 with some *.msixbundle downloaded from web. The version of notepad actually does not matter as you post.

My Groupy settings is just in default because I have uninstall it for several times with totally data-cleaning each time.

And for OS version detail, I will post it soon after I uninstalling recent system patches and finish the test...

But I do have a question: why the behavior of Groupy2 tab to run with native tab is defferent from explorer to notepad? the explorer display two layers of tab while the notepad just display the Groupy tab. Will this be the reason for the crash?

Alright I just mistake it... they do replace the original tabs after openning new window. The "two layers of tab" behaviour just happen when open the native tabs firstly and then enable the Groupy feature...

My OS is under version Windows 11 22H2 22621.2361, for previous confirmatino.

By the way I have test the Groupp 2 Version 2 BETA 1, but it does not solve this.

I'm gonna to resolve the errors caused by my rough rollback operation to the system patches...

I got tried after restore my system to the save point before I update the drives, in which time I should be able to use notepad with Groupy2 with a replaced tab, but not surprisingly it does not.

It must be some errors at the system layer, I don't know. Maybe the drivers, maybe the .NET or VC runtime, god knows.

Anyway just forget about it if you can not reproduce it. I am using a Groupy tabs with native title of explorer and notepad now. It just works well, though doesn't look very elegant.
