A day in the life of a Cotal (hehe) . . .

6.30am - Get out of Bed . . .
6.31am - Go back to Bed . . .
7.00am - Get jumped on by 5 year old son . . . so really get out of Bed this time.
7.05am - ehrm you know . . .
7.10am - make breakfast . . . get jumped on by husband, try to ignore silly man
7.30am - eat and read paper . . . get jumped on by cat!
7.31am - now Cotal is really awake . . . lol
8.00am - get ready for work
8.30am - drop jumping up and down child off at pre-school say good-bye to husband who goes back to bed! $#&^@!
9.00am - Get to work . . . plug in USB bar to computer
- Play GC in-between patients
5.00pm - finish work, save GC game on USB stick
5.30pm - pick-up still bouncing up and down child from child care and go shopping, eat chocolate, eat lots of chocolate if day wasn't so great!
6.30pm - get home and make dinner and bounce around with husband and child until 8 pm . . .
8.30pm - go to the gym or watch TV or . . . you know . . . do stuff (hehe).
10.00pm - Answer e-mails, DL GC game/es and sumbit them, read forums, laugh, cry etc etc . . .

Seems pretty normal to me?

Don't play so much as 'clean-up' games on the weekends I've saved, if I have spare time . . . if you play gigantic you know what I mean (lol build 50 terror stars or party palaces . . . boring)

Regarding how . . . Once I get an Alliance with most/all of the AIs the game is over . . . it rarely takes more than an hour at most. Its the clean up that varies greatly time-wise (good starts flip most of the map) . . .

Did I miss anything? LOL

I only have one question - how exactly do you cure patients? Do you jump up and down on them?

9.30 AM Cotal's gone to work!

(Cotal again with slow moves lifs her eyes from the monitor after defeating one more time the Altarians and asks with a very deep and slow voice: "DON"T YOU SEE I AM BUSSY!!!!!, CAN"T YOU WAIT ONE MORE SECOND!!!! I HAVE TO FINISH THESE STUPID DRENGINS!!!!!!, IF YOU ARE IN A HURRY GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL!!!!!,after few seconds of feroucious eye exchange Cotal return her tired eyes back to the monitor screen where a very ugly Drenging is blowing away one of her planets) What follows after this tragic event is to gruesome to explain, I know for some eyewitness that the man ended in ICU with broken bones and deep cuts on his face and chest, so here you have it a day of work for Cotal can be really exciting.

Wow, a job where you can play galciv... That'd be cool. Do you generally go for alliance victories? I suppose I could end my games faster if I did that.

Care to give us a quick rundown on how you get all the aliens into an alliance? 1 influence every 3 turns?

I find it takes me quite some time just to get through the colonization phase in gigantic games. Haven't played too many of em though, working my way up

JordanVmp, I must admit it's probably the most used cheese tactic in GC gaming . . . 'backstabbing' all your Allies at the end of a game with a Alpha Strike. Simply put it scores a lot higher than Alliance victories, one day SD will close this loop-hole I'm sure . . . but until then, Mwahaha Mwa ha ha ha (That little light blue face in my profile is a traversty!)

Its good to see other women enjoy space statergy, I don't have the reflexes for fast (non-turnbased) games . . .

Rainbird . . . funny you should mention that, just lately . . . ah forget about it, you'll think I'm nuts! (If thats already not the case . . . hehe)

My other most favorite game of late was 'Never Winter Nights' (although the Baulders Gate Saga was in my opinion a definitive classic . . . 'Time Stop' and Liches . . . it doesn't get any scarier than that!) . . . I like games where I can find exploits and weaknesses others easily can't, shifting reality, spinning the computer out . . . GC is definately one of those games the AI would more aptly be called AS . . . cruel but true, bring on Nightmare I say!

Gerakken . . . yep . . . um ok! (Cotal gestures as if she understood what he said and skips away whistling Dixie) ? ? ?

Its all about hording influence points . . . takes a bit to get used to but basicaly if you trade techs for influence 'alot' get Battleship, Disruptors and or Splash Damage while pretending to be evil (collony choices etc) . . . the other AIs seem to think your worthy of thier admiration? The only techs I study are Xeno, Alliance, Advanced Diplomacy etc.

In addition I keep an eye on what the AIs are researching then offer them cash/techs for TG/Wonder techs and build them in the same turn (stop thief!) . . .

This creates an absolutely snowballing economy!

After that I just culture bomb the hell out of everyone using the unfortunate new minor civilizations as stepping stones . . . It pretty easy, I love flipping planets . . .

After that what ever is left over gets vaporized . . .

I always get shocked as hell when the AI offers me one of the battleship, dreadnought, etc techs for something I feel is 'minor'. Happens occasionally though. Otherwise, I can usually get them from a minor fairly easily. I just get too bored with the game to play out gigantic maps. I don't really like anything above large, though I haven't tried a large maso yet.
