There's a LOT that the main stream news refuses to tell us. Why is this?
Like Libya's surrender to the U.S. of a FULL ship load of armaments and weapons that could
be used for nuclear weapons, along with the materials from their dismantled nuclear
program. That barely got a nod. We don't hear from the happy Iraqis, the ones who welcome the liberation from Hussein. In fact, any time I have heard anything about the war in Iraq I always hear them mention how many lives we have lost. I am not saying that the loss of life is unimportant, but how many times a day are they gonna shove it down our throats. I have a friend that can not watch the news because of it....she lost a loved one...
And now for the next several days we will here them recapping the war in Iraq, because it has been a year.
SO! I have seen it. What is there to recapp? How our troops are hated? How many were killed? How we
are prostested against. How many protests were held here in the U.S.? and the list goes on...
again, what about the good that is coming out of this?
We BARELY heard about John Kerry telling a citizen and Bush that the identities of the "foreign" leaders that
supposedly want him in were "none of his business." Gee, a candidate for President hobnobbing
with foreigners who DON'T support our president....that's none of MY business? Then who's "business"
is it?
Wonder what he's promising to do for these foreigners? Or if they exist?
The main stream media edits our news to just what they want us to hear, which is that
Americans are dying every day and Iraqis are demonstrating against us and want us out.
The NY Times, the LA Times, ABC, NBC, CNN, Time and Newsweek are all taking a very liberal
slant and trying to influence our opinion. Just pay attention to the descriptives and
adjectives used to describe anti-Bush vs. the same for pro-Bush.
You will see HIGHLY exaggerated descriptions against Bush, and barely descriptive when they have
to say something positive to say.
Example: That woman that was just arrested for being an Iraqi spy in Wash DC: Well what we heard
and read in the BIG headlines was that she was a distant COUSIN of a highly placed Bush aide--
what was downplayed dramatically was that she had worked for FOUR different Democratic Congress
members over the last few years, despite having a record that was anti-American and pro-Iraqi.
Now how did they forget to emphasize THAT? The lead was the cousin connection --and it was a 2nd
or 3rd cousing relationship--they didn't know one another--way, WAY down in the story was
the fact that the Democrats had been the ones giving her access to information---umm, now there's a tidbit
worthy of ignoring....hmmm. Your nightly news and conglomerate-owned newspapers are only telling
a fraction of the truth, with their own twist on how it should spin. You have to hunt sources for the rest of
the story. That's sad, they fought SO hard for freedom of speech, and now they censor themselves? Too many
media sources are owned by large corporations, that worry more about the almighty dollar than they do about
the truth. It's very sickening, considering how hard it was to fight the government on it so long ago.
I listen to conservative talk radio, when I can catch it, and you can find independent news magazines at a
regular book store or newsstand--not at Walmart or your grocery store, that's for sure. But the TRUTH should
be made more available. Before we know it there will be no more independents out there giving us the "skinny"
in a truthful way. They will be bought up by large companies.
Sometimes I think terrorism's best ally is our damn news conglomerates.
They do more to demoralize and undermine confidence than bombs do.
