Comments and questions on TG.net

Ok, I am member of TG for a while now (since about the release of altarian prophecy) and I am very satisfied with TG and stardock in general. Something that I do mentioned in other forums when appropriate.    I have a couple of things to say/ask.  First of all, why can't I press enter to create a paragraph here?  Next to the TG specific.  The recent releases (earth 2150 and supreme ruler in mind) are just great additions and I am glad you chose to get them (and me from you )  I also see that you have some very interesting game in the horizon (the rally game and the turn based one look very interesting), and I would love to get them too.  Unfortunately I am running out of tokens (since few minutes ago only 4 left), and I have no way to buy more.  I like in the UK and in Greece, I do not have a credit card any more.  I have a Solo (HSBC UK) card only, which it doesn't look I can use it to buy tokens from you.  I do not use/trust paypal so that is out of the question for now.  Do you have any plans or any other ways for me to buy tokens?   Speaking of which, does stardock have any plans in the future to be able to buy a non game from stardock with the tokens?  I think it would be nice to be able to do so.

Glad to hear you're enjoying TGN.

The only other way that you may be able to purchase more tokens is via check or money order. Please email [email protected] and they'll be able to help you further with any other payment options.

For non-games that you can purchase using tokens, right now there are only three: Natural Desktop, Aquarium Desktop and the Desktop Pet. Links to purchase pages for these can be found on the TotalGaming.net home page (top right).

I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to post this.I apologize if it's not.

I wonder why no other company besides EA are making boxing video games? There are a lot of gaming companies (THQ, 2K Sports, Konami, etc.) out there with the resources to compete with EA. Boxing is a huge sport with many fans willing to buy a boxing sim.EA is half *ssing it because they have no competition. I was wondering can you help me get an answer to this question?

I guess would be that boxing games don't sell enough to justify getting into the market for other publishers. In more business terms, there's a big barrier to entry to create a game in that space: You have an established franchise from the biggest player in the market - EA, this makes it unattractive to compete. Plus you have the expense involved in finding or establishing a development team to research the sport, develop the engine, create the content, etc. Lastly, you have potential licensing fees, since in order to compete at all with EA, you'd need some sort of official sanction from the sport. Add all that together, plus the fact that you'd only sell a small number of copies, and you have a high enough barrier to entry that will deter just about everyone else out there.

All that said, Legendo Entertainment has created a boxing game for the PC called Heavyweight Thunder you may want to check out.
