AI breaking alliance.

I was curious what sort of activity would push an ally into breaking his alliance with the human player. Does the computer AI have an algorithm to evaluate the use and necessity of the alliance from time to time and judge whether or not to cut free? If allied with an ethically good race will pursuing an evil path lead them to bounce out of that alliance?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If the math is right the AI will break the alliance. You may want to try the following.

1) Place some escorted transports around their worlds. If that doesn't do it, invade!

2) Keep asking for stuff in the trade menu, especially with 1) above in place.

3) Pay someone off (minor races included) to go to war with them, than not honor your alliance. Thats about 99.967% effective normally.

4) Build starbarses (military and influence work best) around their planets. Slow but when 1) above is in place and ready, really helps out.

Anywho, hope that spurs your imagination.

and one of the biggest, if you are in alliance, and your partner decide to go to the war, and you decide not to go to war with it's opponent, then the alliance is broken!
