The little dream

I know I’m not the only one waiting for these little dreams to grow up,
Waiting to make a difference,
I’m collecting ingredients.
But I’m an impatient tinkerer,
The only thing I successfully invented were these arbitrary timelines.
I’m seeking patents.
Deadlines,
That gauge success on a lack of these feelings,
On ink and paper,
I keep falling behind.
These little dreams come up short,
Coming up from behind,
To catch me off guard when I’m not paying attention.
We should be scared,
Only if,
We fail to be scared.
