Where did you hear about GalCiv?

There should be another option for this survey. I hadn't heard about GalCiv until I was in the store one day looking for a new game when I saw it on the shelf next to MOO3.

The options should include "At The Retailer". :HOT:

I'm guessing that the option Existing Stardock customer or from Stardock in some other way will be how those of us who bought the game because we saw it on the shelf will need to vote. :notsure:

Yeah, that is the closest option to my situation although I'd never heard of Stardock until I opened the GalCiv box.

I was waiting for MOO III. When it came out, it was blasted on the MOO forums. At lot of people on that forum suggested GalCiv.

That is where I heard about it too. I also play Stars! and saw GalCiv mentioned in their newsgroup too.

I heard about this during my OS2 days back in the mid 90's. Now that Stardock ported in over to Windows I am running it on my Win2K.

I heard a review about the game on CNN. My first exposure to Stardock - hadn't played a computer game in about 5 years. Am now making up for lost time :)

Gal Civ got a high rating in Computer Gaming World magazine and it sounded like a fun game so I bought it from amazon.com

I heard about it before the website for the game came out. Possibly before the forums came out. I heard of it from someone in SF. And from Anaxis someone in sf .

I came across a galciv demo in PCGamer and loved it, and played it to peices. Now I've got the full game I've got really into it!

I also first heard of it when I saw it on the shelf. I wasn't looking for a new game, just looking at the new games. One of my favorite things to do when I'm at a computer store. I went back and bought it about a week later. :)

Yea, I only get 6 options in the polls. :(

Yea, if we can find out how people found out about the game in the first place, we can focus efforts on a GalCiv II at that better. :)

I heard about Galciv just prior to the release date. On internet, adiscussion forum I guess. I then bought it directly from stardock on day 1.

And Frogboy, selling it directly through download is a great idea (for us dsl & cable users at least). When I saw the support you offered about 1 month after release, I upgraded to Drengin. I hope you m

I hope you managed to receive the money you were due for the retail sales (you & your team really deserve it) --- I saw what you said in another thread, just unbelievable!

Ok ok . . .

I was sitting down and my hubbie said to me he said
'Hey did you hear about that new game called Galactic Civilizations?' . . .

To which I responded yes, even though I hadn't heard anything of the sort. I was in a bad mood with him as I recall because he maxed out our credit card (yet again) and I knew he was just leading into a conversation were he'd say we should buy it and how great it would be and we could play it against each other and it would be so much fun and yada yada yada . . .

Anyway I go out and buy him this game and he plays it and it crashes then crashes again and he gets all like heya this games no good and I'm all like no its great and end up playing it and he hates it and there you go you can like keep it because I want Warcraft3 now and it would be great and we could play it together and it would be so much fun and yada yada yada . . . ;p

in France the game is almost nowhere to be seen, bought it from amazon after a very small article on Gen4 www.gen4pc.com, the article gave it a small 65/100, but on the internet things were different, most important when I visited this site and read the forum, then I was convinced

definitely ready for galciv2 :)

And I thought I was the only one to use this approach! :)
I guess we, "hubbie gamers", all use the same worn tactic LOL

But it doesn't work on my wife: she nevers goes out and buy. She waits till I do and then comes to play!

Happy new year to you all
