Where did you hear about GalCiv?

Where did you hear about GalCiv?

There should be another option for this survey. I hadn't heard about GalCiv until I was in the store one day looking for a new game when I saw it on the shelf next to MOO3.

The options should include "At The Retailer". :HOT:

Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. Tell everyone to stop by and share their experience. I’m hoping to get a large number of responses, thinking that if enough people comment, this thread and the survey will help Frogboy and the crew, formulate a marketing strategy for GalCiv II and …… er ……… uh …… oh

Even though I've told this story to the Stardock crew a couple of times already...

Step One: Soil all my pants in anticipation for MOO3. :D
Step Two: Get frustrated with the peice of junk. >:(
Step Three: Give it a second try a few months later. :)
Step Four: Break the CDs >:( (were there two? i can't remember).
Step Five: Have GalCiv recommended on the MOO3 forum. :)
Step Six: Buy GalCiv from a retail store and get blown away. :D
Step Seven: Upgrade to Drengin.net simply to thank Stardock for an awesome game.

I was an OS/2 fanatic, GC was the best OS/2 game available. So I checked off I am a customer.

I actually got a... ummm... pirated version of GalCiv 1.0 for OS/2 and I liked it so much that I went out and bought it... and then I bought GalCiv 2.0 for OS/2, then the GalCiv Gold Edition (with shipyards, which is an add where you could build and customize your own ships (and the AI could, also!) and like what is planned for GalCiv for Windows). And I was following the progression of GalCiv for Windows, but refused to participate in the beta program for purely selfish reasons... that is, I wanted it to be a complete surprise to me when it came out. I WANTED to get my butt kicked all over the galaxy while I tried to figure out what the new strategies were.

I had seen GalCiv on the shelves at the store but didn't bother to buy it until it became Gamespy TB game of the year. Then I thought I should try it out and got it a few days ago.

Still think it is too easy (won 3 straight games with military conquest victory and no shots fired at all - the last on challenging level), but it seems to be interesting so far, and I am taking it for granted that by the time I get to masochist level, the game will be tougher.

But I liked the Stardock customer service model so much I signed up for drengin.net too the first day I installed GalCiv.
