Total Failure of version 1.00.002

I am using WB 5.01f.010, blind VistaAurora 5365 (and its shellstyle)

I have downloaded the 1.00.002 version twice now and have had the following problems:

1) After downloading and rebooting the system, there were no changes to any of the screens. I called up My Documents, Explorer etc, and saw no changes

2) Operating on the assumption that the program would not simply load automatically on startup, I went in and started the program manually.  This called up a dialog box that lets me select various options.  For simplicity's sake I kept the preselected options, clicked OK, and .... nothing. No changes to the screens when I called them up. (I noticed also that nowhere in the dialog box was there an option to invoke the program at startup; the implication being that I have to invoke the program manually every time I boot up.)

3) I tried to start the program again, and decided I would click on the "help" button located at the lower left of the dialog box.  No help files activated.

4) I uninstalled and tried again, repeating all of the various steps, and again, nothing.

Questions -

1) Does this program only work if WindowBlinds is deactivated?

2) Do I have to have the folder view set to "detail" (as opposed to "thumbnail" or something else)for the program to work? (Not that this did anything for me so far.)

3) Is the "Help" function supposed to work?

4) Is there supposed to be an option to activate the program at startup?

5) Is it possible that some of the other OD programs (like RightClick, ObjectDock, IconPackager might interfere with the operation of the program? (I noticed several icon choice requests in the main dialog box - do theseconflict with IconPackager?)

A multitude of questions and problems - but,

This is the first Stardock program I have ever tried where absolutley NOTHING seemed to work.

Help with any and all of them would be appreciated -

Thanks

I have had no problems using Object Dock, ObjectBar, Right Click & ED together.

A couple of things to check:

When you open the ED config dialog, General tab, General section, did you select the first 2 items-- to show ED when saving files & to show it when opening files?

ED deosn't work with MS Office proggys

Some programs don't use ED unless forced - see Forced tab

Some proggys balk or crash with ED - see Exclusions tab

To see how ED looks & get pointers on using it, check this link:

It's worth the effort IMHO

Sopiesboy, this program only works with the "File Open", File Save" "File Save As" dialogs within certain programs. Some will not allow it like Office programs and Paint Shop Pro because they already have modified Save,Open dialogs. it won't show any differences in your folders only in program dialogs. To test it start notepad, type a few characters and choose File Save and see if you don't notice a difference.

I'm new to Stardock products and am really enjoying the work they've done. BUT... I'm having this same problem. EFD works great on my other computer (WinXP), but on my main system (WinXP Pro x64) - nuthin. I have also installed and reinstalled EFD, but no luck. -I'm also noticing some differences in Theme installations as well, but that's for another thread.- Thanks!

Enhanced Dialog is for customizing the open/save dialogs, nothing to do with folders.
There is an article about it here Read this

Did not see that this had been answered, all that bold text is hard to read.
