Window Transitions & Dragging Not Working

Hi,

Everytime I enable the Window Transitions or Window Dragging, WinFX 3 freezes (if I click the Try button). The windows that WinFX 3 tries to apply the effect on will also freeze. If I terminate WinFX, everything goes back to normal.

The following is the details shown by Performance advise,
Video Card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700
Driver Ver: 6.14.10.6476 (latest for this laptop. ATI does not support ATI Mobility)
Constant Alpha Blending and Per Pixel Alpha Blending is accelerated by these drivers.

Thanks.

Hello Programatix,

I will pass this on to technical support, and they will get back with you as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Hi,

I just downloaded version 7 of Object desktop and everything seems to work except for Windows Transitions and Dragging. I currently am using a Sony VAIO Notebook with 128mb video memory and 2gb RAM. I was able to create a more technical document in hopes that this will help:

I have the same problem - Transitions and Dragging not working. Everything else in FX works fine.

I have logged a support call. They said that they will come back as they have sent it to Development (for fixes?).

Also using the Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family

Apparently this is a very common problem. I looked around on the forum and this is not the first time this happens.

Now I am starting to get invisible windows, specifically when I run REGEDIT. If I shut down WindowFX all seems good again.

Mine work but the window turns black while it is in progress.

Hi again,

In order to test and see if the problem I was having is something unique to my VAIO Notebook, I uninstalled it and reinstalled the applications on another computer. This computer is a Dell Dimension 2400 with 1gb RAM. The conclusion is that I get the exact same results as my laptop. Therefore, the problem is not with the equipments (laptop nor desktop) but with the WindowFX software and or a combination of programs within the Object Desktop suite. Here is the technical info according to Window Blinds:

I have the exact same issue.

Seems this is very common across many setups.

Stardock needs to fix this ASAP.

My graphics card = ATI Mobility Radeon x700 256MB.

Mine worked fine with WindowFX2 and the 3.0 beta.

Okay I am having the same problems reported in this post,no Transitions, or Dragging effects and freezing.

I have never been able to make FX work porperly since it was updated from 2.x to 3.x so this problem is not new to me at all.

I have an ASUS laptop with:

Hey everyone, sorry about the problems you're experiencing. This thread has not gone unnoticed    The lead developer of WindowFX reported that he's putting together a new build that should be available soon.

Thank you very much for your patience and persistence through this matter. We'll see if we can get these issues sorted out

Thanks for the responses, Stardock.

Interestingly enough, the newest build of WindowFX 3, not the beta, works with my system.

WindowFX 2 and the newest build work. Beta 3 did not work.

I'm not sure when this build was relevant to my download. I purchased and downloaded Stardock Central this Tuesday I believe along with whatever version of WindowFX was available at the time. I have not seen an update to WindowFX since.

No, windows still show black when minimizing and dragging.

I get the lock-up too from The Windows Transitions & the try it button really sets it off.

I've also noticed that the animations for when you copy, delete a file are always frozen...I've just stopped using WinFX.
