Altarians

After looking at some pics fromthe OS2 version on another site I noticed the Altarians used to not look human - then I noticed an old pic on Drengin net where Altarians used the Torian leader (who looks abit like like the OS2 Altarians).

My question is: Why make the Altarians look human?

From what Brad has mentioned in other posts, this ties in to the back-story of the game. If you look around a little, and find a string about Draginol, there is some information there. I think the game will also provide some clues about this as well, which will unfold as you play.

OK, pity this forum doesn't have a SEARCH button.

Does anyone have a link, or could someone repost it ???

I tried to find it, and it looks like it has timed itsself off of the list. If anyone from Stardock has access, may they could re-post, or bump it so that it will be back on the list.

I would try to sum it up, but I only read it once or twice, and do not want to butcher the story.

It would also be good to have other backstory info (From what I've read here it sounds like it won't be in the manual)

Could this have something to do with the blue alien on the main page ???

frogboy mentioned that his backstory said that those races who were touched/infected by one of the original "gods?" looked like humans. and that all major evil changes in the galaxy tended to be caused by them because they were touched.

I don't remember that about the Altarians.

The pregame history is in the Galciv Encyclopedia. All of the documents there are interesting reading.

russellmz was good enough to locate the original thread where BRad posted a breif synopsis of the backstory. See his "they all look alike...: thread!

Thanks russellmz!
