I know some shiatsu and used to practice on my husband...who's get embarassed because he'd fall asleep during the massage! I didn't mind; I took it as a compliment that I'd relaxed him enough that he could nod off like that.

Massage, especially between couples, can be a bonding experience. Touch is a powerful thing, and when there's nothing between your touch and your mate's bare skin but a little oil....well, it can be quite a 'deep' experience.
