What will your first game setup look like?

With the game becoming available in three days, what will be your game settings for the very first game?

My political alignment will be technologist, since I think I can really use that research boost during my first game.

Points will be spent in research (2), espionage (2), trade (3) and population increase (3). More research and I think I can you the trade boost to get some economy going.

I don't know about my abilities (bonuspak) yet, since I haven't got a clue what they all are.

Going for a medium sized galaxy, so that I have a little time to explore before meeting aliens.

Star density (thanks to the bonuspak) will be tight clusters (I like it when a lot happens in little space).

I think I'll put the AI on one level below 'bright'. Would that be avarage or intermediate or so?

I'll try to play as good humans with the other races on their standard alignment.

I haven't got a clue which victory to go for first. We'll see about that when the game unfolds. Surviving will be my first goal I think ;)

You will probably want to play on beginner intelligence. One of the things I find neat is the levels of intelligence reflect how hard they really are.... beginner isn't a cakewalk. One below bright is normal I think, and that is what I usually play at in larger galaxys(if you play against smarter aleins in larger galaxys they colonise faster than you, or at least me, and get really powerfull... in smaller galaxys it is easy to stay even if there are not too many planets overall.)

Well good luck, no matter what you choose... I think you will find the game fun no matter what settings you use.... even if you let the AI walk over you you get amazed at how well they did it... :sniff!:

i figure on being a war party but being pure good and to influence events through diplomacy (i dislike going to war in civ games). with most of my beginning points spent on "luck", since i am unlucky in real life.

Well, I think first of all we want to find out how much the Gold + Bonus Pack differs from the beta. Now, knowing Brad has a great challenge in beating the AI at the highest level, and HE IS THE ONE WHO PROGRAMMED IT WITH HIS STAFF, I certainly will go for an easy approach first of all. Just to get the hang of it. AND THEN, UP TO THE METAVERSE :)

Hmmm you might be right DarkHelmet ("Why ain't I never notified about these things" ;) ). I might be a bit too enthusiastic here.

Though I would love to get the occasional AI spanking it might be wise for my confidence to just take it a bit easier and hopefully survive on beginner then.
