sentry? guard? sweep?

Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between sentry, guard, auto-attack and the other commands that I can give my defensive ships?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Sentry = Ship goes into stasis until you reactivate it.

Guard = Ship will 'wake up' if enemy ship comes nearby.

Auto-attack = Ship wakes up and fires!

Ah, yes...

Sweep = Ship will automatically cruise around the sector it's in, uncovering fog of war as it goes--or just generally crusing around as a scout, for example.

Sentry = Ship will only activate when another races ships come in sensor range.

Guard = Ship will activate only when a enemy ship comes in sensor range.

Auto-attack, will hunt ships you are at war with, orbiting ou in space, close by or across the galaxie, attacks starbase also. If your at war with 2 AI's will attack which ever is closer.

Watch out for starbase, unless you have enough hit points.
