Newbie asking for help!?!

Hello everyone,
I downloaded desktopx and a theme and must say "Vista who?"

My question is can you have an external widget(one from yahoo widgets) appear and disappear when the side bar for a theme appears and disappears? I am running Windows XP if that matters?

All the many widget platforms are different and do not work together. Sorry. What is the yahoo widget? Maybe there is a DX equivalent.
