I've never ever seen an expansion pack get a higher review than its original game. Dark Avatar garnered a 9.1 rating, compared with Dread Lords 9.0 rating, not a significant difference, but I was indeed surprised.
A well deserved pat on the back for Stardock.
BTW I'm posting this here as there are about half a dozen posts on this subject over at the Galciv2 forums and there was no discussion about it here so...um...yeah.
