Spies and Mercenaries

I was sitting, thinking about how to add some mroe features into the game and making it more fun, and at the same time adding some personality. So, here it comes:

Spies
We should have access to spies that can give us certain information such as where they're planning to attack. What the defense is like in a system we're planning to attack. I'm sure people can come up with some more ideas to this. A spy could get caught, killed and lost. If he's caught he might rat you out, or not. If successful at a mission he could get better at what he does.

Mercenaries
They could work similar to the spies, you can hire them to sabotage in badly defended systems, and other suitable functions. Of course these would be deviously expensive. And actually, you might even hire a pirate to do the job.

But...
It's hard to think about ideas when I don't know what all the races are like yet, but I was hoping to make something that's unique to them all but at the same time be of equal value. I guess that can come after beta 3.

yeah, its kindof hard to see a Vasari betraying his entire race to die at the hands of the... big mysterious thing for a bit of cash.

Spies- Most of what you asked for the scout accomplishes, with probes et all.
Merc - Pirates, nuff said.

I remember reading that the other 2 races were more stealthy/spy-y. Though I agree we need more espionage. I like trading intel reports with allies, but what about buying others' reports from allies? I don't have all the ideas, but more intelligence, more espionage, and possibly subterfuge would be awesome. Maybe (for multi) a ECM ship that prevents the other "emperor" from being able to see/command/micro a battle. Spur of the moment idea (I know), but I know there are other, fun ways to include this stuff
