O.T. Political Machine

Is 4/8 still a go for the beta of the political machine?
I bought my drengin.net subscription just for this last year.......

Please say yes, it's been a long wait.

This is from the SD announcment

The Political Machine is scheduled to be released in June 2004 at most retail outlets. Stardock will be starting a public beta of the game starting April 8th via its Drengin.net (www.drengin.net) gaming network.

I read that release already, my question is this:
Will the beta actually be available on the 8th of this month as mentioned in a couple of other releases?

I've got plans to try a couple two player games to see how she runs on the 9th. Tentative plans of course.

We've moved the external beta date to April 15th.

Ack.... the beta date moved back? I was expecting it tomorrow.... on the other hand, I do have a 20 page research paper due Monday, so maybe it's for the best.

Personally, I'm not quite sure why I upgraded to Drengin.net. I had already bought GalCiv online, and while Political Machine sounds nice I probably won't play it for long.

I guess I really just upgraded to Drengin.Net as a show of support for StarDock because I really appreciate the level of support they give to their products.

You might want to try The Corporate Machine if you like strategy games.  I found it very addictive, but then I love Monopoly too.  (You know it's a bad sign when you set up the monopoly board with pads of paper to keep track of loans and deals and you buy old sets from garage sales to get more houses and hotels.)

Yea, it was the old problem of "put the beta, go off for easter break an deal with tons of angry emails because of some issue or other we didn't think of." ;)

I guess. You were going to release it on a Thursday so it's not like Saturday night...anyway, maybe you can throw us a bone and surprise us on Monday or Tuesday next week. I am fired up to play. As I mentioned, I'll give it a two player run through next weekend assuming you don't delay again.

Cheers.

Incidentally, not having enough houses and hotels in the game box was intentional. You're not supposed to be able to build up every property.

It's looking like it'll be tomorrow.

Thanks Brad, I look forward to the game. Screenshots look pretty good. The doonseberry election game was buggy as hell and President Elect is pretty darn old.
This will definately fill a void.
