Troll

I am a troll
today
I can feel my
knuckles dragging
on the ground
like sandpaper
the toothpaste
made my jowls
grow
and left me with no
minty scent
the toilet paper
made my ass
burn and
bleed
mucus seeping
from my bulging
blood shoot
eyes
I knew I was a
troll

the ache and the creek
of my angry bones
told me
to growl as with each
movement
I grew horns waiting
for the
brown rancid
elixir
to be hot
it only encouraged my
troll ness
it was too hot
I grew fangs
my progeny stole
my gold and left
my wallet void
fingers grew to
claws
and I think I ate the
dog

when the blood poet
called
I lost language
grunts groans whimpers
and roars
became the extent of my
tongue
he said, “I think I lost
my boots”
I meant to say,
“eat shit and die”
instead
I cut the nastiest
fart
and growled
he tried to growl
back
but he was only
peter pan
and my troll ness
kicked his ass

I’m a troll
today
I’m not nice
nor polite
and
though I hate rhymes
I might like a
fight
“so fuck you”
what do you want?
I’m a troll

Love your poetry. I like the disjunction, how the words will never be neighbours, just tenents in a highrise apartment.

Keep on writing.
