it just doesn’t seem to
matter
which prick rules
the world
whoever it is
I’m screwed
I live with the nuts
in town
the guys that had
a little too much
of everything
and got retired
from active living
look at the
tattoos on
crazy mike’s face
it’s a fire alarm
to the outside
world
people hide
children scream
and run into
the streets
they should
about every 10 to 12
days

in a reply to the demons
in his head
pounds a roofing
hammer
against his
skull
I always stop to ask
if he took
his “meds”
he always
says “yes”
before the end of the
day
he’d have those suckers
at bay
I admire his
tenacity
one-eyed joe
has occupied
the bench outside
the manor doors
for 20 years
he thinks his
mom
gave him
“vitals”
a disease that let’s
her see him
anywhere
it’s spooky
sandra
a goth girl that
shrinks and swells
according to narcotic
levels
whispers that “they” are
watching us
pointing to a spot
on the wall
she looks sexy
but you gotta wonder
about a knife
any knife
