Where is Combat Viewer in Dark Avater

I am new to this game. When does the combat viewer come on? My view of the combat is at the level of the camera that I used to move my ships into combat position. My view never switches to the "combat view" which is advertised as zoomed in and with rewind capability.

Please help.

Go to your Options page for the game and see what battle options are selected. I believe the defaults only bring up the Combat Viewer when there is a fleet on fleet engagement, but you can set it down to where it will annoyingly interrupt you every time a pirate polishes off an unarmed work boat.

drrider is correct, except for one small point-> The Combat Viewer will also appear whenever there is a Fleet vs Single ship.
