Looking down

looking down
from the plane
as I land to go home
again
the city below
looks
so neat
rows and rows
of cute little cottages
houses with brown wood
shingles
checkered patterns
of farmland
pastures spotted with
cattle
no trash at this
height
no sight of the
layers of people
invisibly stacked
on top of each other
like sediment in
laboratory piss
tests
we all find our level
in the social centrifuge
we sink till we float and we live on top of
each
other
the lighter piss people
stay at the top
they always do
I seem to settle on the
bottom
it just seems
appropriate
