No, Stylebuilder is for StyleXP. There are a few people here who have used it and may be able to help if they see this thread.

I, however, would suggest you dump StyleXP and use WindowBlinds and SkinStudio, they are more system friendly and offer much more skinability than StyleXP.

I would not put much trust in a company like TGT Soft; they do not have a forums section at their site for users to post questions.

i was kind of tired of half baked skins ..

Skinners spend considerable amount of time making these skins and asking for help with a comment like that is not likely to get you much assistance.

Hankers..He/she is making a dark skin so no matter what it will be half baked. Someone will learn a lesson soon enough.

Capri435..I am sure Vstyler will be along soon and he will certainly know the solution.

sorry guys....no offence by that half baked skin comment....

i researched bit more and found that on aqua-soft forums.....black panther theme has a sub style that is completely black but the author had the same problem and says theres no fix for this.....according to them the problem lies somewhere in the uxtheme.dll....some broken code they say....

is it possible in skinstudio??....i dont have a problem in moving to skinstudio but only if its possible...

is it possible in skinstudio??

Yes it is but it is one of those things that the text color change affects other areas thus requiring more work to make text/backgrounds look right for all affected areas.

Another good reason to switch to WindowBlinds and SkinStudio.

If you have had StyleXP for awhile, back when it hacked your system, just an uninstall will not fix your system. You would be looking at at least a repair install of XP if not a format and a fresh install of XP.

When a skin is pure black, some system text will go unseen because it is hard coded by XP as black and cannot be changed. Just because you can't see a bug, doesn't mean it isn't there.
I assure you that a blacked out theme will have problems with system text colors. Be cautious.

yup

Whether you use Stylebuilder or SKS your going to run into problems trying to make a totally black theme, its just not possible to cover all the text options in windows, that aside, many applications also use hard coded text, usually black, The half baked'ness you talk about is caused by this. NT is correct, nothing you can do to get around it. period. Skinstudio however does give you more options to change most of the text colors in windows. In a visual style as far as i can recall you will have to change it from the display properties dialog but it will not change all the text and wont cover third party applications.

I've used both Stylebuilder and Skinstudio and I can assure you SKS gives you a better chance of getting close to pulling off what your trying to do. I wouldn't however recommend using both on the same system.
