Sea Levels vs. Oceanfront Property Values

Why aren't Americans heading for the hills?

I have an observation:

If everybody's so convinced that global warming is real and the sea level is going to rise, why are oceanfront property values so high? These vast swaths of prime oceanfront real estate should be the first to go when the Gore followers get their doomsday.

If we really deep down believed that global warming was so darn imminent, why don't we see people moving to Denver or North Dakota... leaving behind their oceanfront property at pennies on the dollar?

Just a thought.

I have an ulterior motive: what I'm really hoping is that I can get me some nice place on the Chesapeake Bay for real cheap.

And then turns out five years from now it'll be under 20 feet of ocean.

HOw do you know the ones down there believe it also? Maybe they are hoping that the other fish will believe it and then snap up some cheap property as well.

Before the internet, there were scams. The internet just makes them easier to disseminate.

And Al Gore invented the Internet... coincidence? I think not.

Global climate change is the scam. If more people truly believed the doomsayers we'd all literally head for the hills, leaving behind our doomed Eastern Shore property. All of Florida would be abandoned.

Had not thought of that, but that is very good!  Have a cookie for that one!

And a deep bow in return.

So by your logic since people refused to believe that the world was round then Christopher Columbus didn't discover America.

Your argument is that people refusing to accept facts disprove the facts.

Not at all my dear friend. I believe the point is that we are being told that the majority of people believe in global climate change. Our friend was pointing out that if that were true then why is it that people are not heading for the hills. I know you being of a vastly superior intellect might not make the connection being as it is so base in its logic. But it is food for thought. I have a small real estate business in Florida and it seems that we are still getting thousands of people a week looking for homes here. When I mention global warming and the fact that in less than ten years even central Florida will be under 20 feet of water they laugh. This goes along with our friend up north. I don’t think people actually believe Mr. Gore or his minions of doom and gloom.
