Organizing another big game

So after that 4v4, I figured why not try and organize another big game

It's hard to predict how long it can last, so I wouldn't put the "You must stay until the end" condition on signing up, especially since it's during the week and people have to work and things. But the condition I will put is not to leave when your flagship gets destroyed early on. Otherwise, stay as long as you possibly can.

So with that said, I'm available during the week from about 5pm Central time (that's what, 11 pm GMT?).

If anyone's interested, post here along with your times so we can set something up. Maybe even tonight if we're lucky You folks who were in our last big game better sign up

Also, I can host fine if that's an issue for anyone.

Wow, that was pretty damn cool...even though I was the first non lagbooted player to get killed.

I learned a few things there. There are few things I will never again do in multiplayer. Thanks for the harsh beat down lesson.

well the game crashed but it was clearly a win for the Multianna crew...

I learned that even if your murdering someones capital planet, you dont try and mop up half assed with frigates. And to watch my siege frigates better.

Not to mention I should have just left avatar alone and finished off the stupid AI

At any rate, we should try for another big game, though limit it to 3v3 or 4v4, the 5v5 didn't spread nice and evenly...

Yeah, on the Areolian Sector map, 5v5, populated poorly. One system had 3 from our team vs 2 of opposing, and another system had the opposite. The systems with 2 teammates are at an immediate disadvantage assuming the opposition has any sort of teamwork.

It would be much better if it split a 3v3 and 2v2 instead

Was a fun game, nonetheless. I feel bad for Paradox being the first out on his first MP game, but one of our guys jumped to his planet and started attacking so it was only logical at that point :x Multi and I were focusing on Nyquist first.

Anyway, Saturday 3pm Eastern is fine for me

soooo what are the plans for the weekend?

btw how long did the last game last , just so we can get an idea of what dimensions we are talking about? 4 hours, 6, 10?

Hrm the last game probably didn't go longer than 2 before Multi crashed (host). At the rate it was going, it had a good chance to be over in another hour/hour and a half. Everyone was pretty aggressive early on, so even for a 5v5 that was pretty good.

As for the weekend, I guess we're trying 3pm eastern? Only time I've heard so far.. I'm available whenever and I'll sit in IRC regardless.

3pm eastern is a decent start time; a little more forgiving to those peeps across the pond... at any rate; yeah the 5v5 was Decided within 2 hours, mainly because of the map; Next time I want a random huge or something... I think that will play out better.

If we get enough for 3v3 I call it a success

The last time we did a random huge with the replay Multi posted, it threw all of us into the same system and the others weren't used.. makes for a quick game to be sure, but then each player can only get 2-3 planets at the start

If you do a Random Small it will make 1 star but generate a given number of planets per player- Or so I believe, anyone have a better idea?

I just want to avoid the 3v2 3v2 issue we had.

2-3 planets per person isnt so bad if we play on fast if u ask me...

I didn't think of that, I believe you're right. Random medium also has 1 star but will give a little more breathing room if we have too many people

BTW guys, just an FYI but I do work this weekend -- I had a once in a blue moon sunday off last week, that is not going to repeat very often.
