cannot run game

from Stardock Forums
I have a cheap #@$ computer, but it meets the minimum specs, yet as soon as I hit the "start new civilization" button, I end up back at the desktop. anyone have any ideas?

specs:
256 mb ram
celery 700 ( reports as a piii )
intel i810 integrated graphics ( up to 16megs shared memory I think. Latest drivers as of yesterday)
DX8.1 ( passes all video tests )
Cmedia built in audio

just noticed something. the game appears to be looking for G: drive. I don't have a G: drive. only C:

Whats up with that?

It looks like your installation is messed up. My suggestion would be to reinstall the game.
