Survey Ship Weapon Capacity

I noticed that other races survey ships have attack ratings; mine does not. Although I have researched weapon tech, I cannot figure out a way to upgrade my survey ship so it can attack. Any suggestions???

Many anomalies give you plus +1 Weapons.

certain anomalies will boost the ship's stats. it's best to put it on "auto-survey" once you're no longer using it to scout.

in my current game, my survey ship from the start of the game has an attack of about 33 and defense of 40 or so. it can annihilate fleets of enemy dreadnoughts.

Pretty big galaxy out there huh?

Of course some of those anomalies are so common you'd think they are the regular thing and empty space is something rare! LOL

Yesterday I was a bit nervous as the single-planet Torians suddenly DOW'd me and sent 60+ Precursor Corvettes (some event they must have had!) towards me but my trusty Survey ship handled that pretty well
