Metaverse Score Updates

The first two games I played were entered into the Metaverse list. The last three haven't been. Its a little annoying as I should easily be in the top hundred by now. When I press submit to enter a score at the end of game the screen goes back to the intro menu immediately. No error reported. No confirmation that score has been updated. No delay. No obvious attempt to do anything. I may as well have pressed an exit button. One of my main problems is trying to work out how all the names in the fields on the Metaverse properties for my entry tie up with the names in the fields in the game. I have not seen a detailed description of how the update works so guesswork applies.

Its really bad that a game score just gets lost before/during/after transmission - what happened to verification and error trapping?

Well, here's a funny - I completed a game the other day, couldn't get it logged (it just exited to main menu). I thought it might be firewall or any number of other things.

Today I connected SDC, it updated itself. Clicked on install for GalCiv (fearing a huge download) and it updated itself in about an hour. Meanwhile I made sure I registered my player in the Metaverse (think I did that already but better be sure...). Started GalCiv, noticed a firewall pop-up, allowed it and ta-da! I'm now ranked 112th in the top player listings ahead of Apolyton.net! Yay! LOL

So the moral of the story: it seems stores GalCiv stores the score, if it can't submit now then do the updates and it will sort itself. Needless to say I'm impressed with the turnaround time from reported bug to fix in place.
