What happened to the Universalists political party?

I started to play my first game and decided hey I want to have the Universalists as my political party... But went to screen and I didn't have this option. I was disappointed but wondering if they were removed from the game or the select item box just isn't working?

Help I want to be a Universalist

There were removed before shipping (but after the manual was made).

StarDock has mentioned that they might put them and/or the other 2 missing factions in sometime in the future. Either an enhancement/patch or expansion. We just have to wait and see.

It was actually mentioned that 2 parties were removed for balance reasons in the read.me file. Sheesh.. doesn't anyone *read* those things anymore?
