faith
spread out
foundationally
and they come
running with disaster
relief worried so
for the
children
with no shoes
but
jesus
didn’t come
running
he wasn’t
stacking crates
of discarded
clothing
or unloading
tons of supplies
from relief
planes
he was not
at the UN meeting
or USAID
no congress to
grant or deny
faith hope charity
jesus
was a little to the
left of the last
child dying
whore pleading
junkie crying
and someone’s
mother trying to
make a choice
those closest to christ
have no halos
but they wear
