Anxiety

My thoughts wander in more than one direction

No matter the focus no matter the concentration

Preoccupied with not letting go, it’s hard to say no

It’s a challenge to let my discontent show

I used to hear it’s just a phase

My generation’s common known craze

But what if it’s really my mind

Searching for something that’s not easy to find

Or maybe something that doesn’t exist

Everyday I’m closer to heaven reaching my name on their list

Maybe I won’t find it maybe I will

At least my mind did not remain still

pshychx, can i have your permission to use this line when my mind drives me insane ?. to remind me that i don't really want to be blind and ignorant, no matter how much peace it seems to bring to the masses.

i loved this, i didn't actually know you wrote poetry

Thanks for replying mig yeah you can use that line when knowing more than the average joe gets to you...like Einstein used to say, "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."  As far as spelling my name right it's no biggie if you'd like you can call me Carlos my actual name, which speaking of I should just leave at the bottom of my posts.  I'm glad you liked the poem, I usually write them when I am in a certain mood when I know that my emotions will influence it, it's the only time I can write poetry without sounding too literal...

hey, you're so welcome

hey, i feel funny saying carlos now hehe, and actual names sound so much more formal than usernames. i can't remember if i ever actually told you my name in any of our comments, but anyway, it's vanessa.

see ?. vanessa. so much more serious sounding than mig.

Yeah it definitely is much more formal and upfront and it also removes some of the discretion an alias gives us, it gives a glimpse into the real persona or even what our parents feel we most resembled as babies...I don't know, I think I'm not making sense but feel free to call me either ... Vanessa is my aunt's name by the way and it's serious insofar that our first name is the first thing we hear when we get in trouble.

carlos, as i'm sure you know by now, my closest friend is named marco. marco is brazilian, but somehow his italian name manages to suit him. it's almost a statement in itself, particularly since another one of his given names is that of a roman emperor, and the final one is a saint. i swear his mother was psychic or something hehe

ps: nearly forgot, i answered a comment from you somewhere in my blog a while ago, and i asked you another question, but i can't remember where it was !. hehe. anyway, it was about a "relationship contract" you once mentioned in a comment. i can't find the original comment of yours now, and i always wanted to ask you about it, if it's not personal, that is.

i thought it would make a fascinating blog. i hope you know what i'm talking about ?.

Vanessa your friend Marco has quite a cultured name.

Hmm, well finding that comment would be quite a task considering all of your good blogs that I have commented on but I think I remember about the relationship contract concept.  It was about a way to go around marriage so divorce would be less of an issue considering how bad it is now (at least in the States)...it was a concept, a possible alternative to marriage. It does downplay marriage somewhat though so I don't know how well the reception would be.
