Tech Tree Printable

I have tried once or twice to print the excellent tech tree done, I think, by Java Scout(?). I have printed it in one but everything is much too small to see. Has anyone any suggestions? I do know that Word will print a very large tech tree well over A3 size but I can't remember how to do it by using files which have been incorporated. So far I haven't been able to get it to print beyond page 1, which does not contain all the tree. I would love to put it on my board on the wall. I have an A3 printer but to print this particular tree I would need an A2 which I can't really afford now. My eyes are bigger than my belly (which means they are very big), as my mother used to say.

There should be an option called format page (I'm using german version so I'mnot sure about the propper english name). This allows you to change the printed pages style of size

There is Format in the headings (AltO) but I can't remember a bit in there that talks about the problem I am facing. I will certainly try it and come back to you. It took me a little while to get the document into Word.
Thank you for your kind help.

I regret that in part of an afternoon of trying I have not found the solution. No doubt it is a tick in the right spot, or, perhaps, no tick in the right spot. I shall find it eventually.

Javascout's website should have or will be updated soon at least I heard that. He has a nice tech tree printout that is 3 pages long. Tape it together hang it on the wall and it is perfect! :D

This is his page and website but the URL has changed completely. Check it out though best resource for all info on galciv. I hope this helps! When I can make time this info will be at NeoTech Network website. http://www.neotechgaming.com

I doubt anyone can memorize the entire tech tree A must for all galciv gamers. :)

Research tech tree in PDF format. It is on the left side of the page I think. You can't miss it using the same name in the beginning of my sentence. :)

End of quote

Does that mean there will finally be a tech tree for AP :p ?

I sure hope so I find it impossible to remember every single tech and where it is compared to another one that you may be trading.

The excel sheet is one of the best I have been though. It appears it could be updated much easier then the one at Javascout website. If I knew how to use the program I would update it. :)

Yeah, I haven't upgraded it to AP yet. How many additional techs are there in AP anyway? There really can't be that many? If not, I'll get it updated and repost.

There are quite a few new ones. Not sure how many but around 15 or possibly 30. I am going to printout your work and I plan to put online at NeoTech. Thanks by the way for doing it. :D

Oh yeah, all the logistics techs. I forgot all about those...
Yes and some new weapons technology forgot how many exactly as I play with Icho_Tolot Mods all the time I have double the amount of techs. :)

FYI, AP contains no new techs. It contains 2 new majors, new ships, custom maps, scenarios, and 1 campaign (plus the 3 editors).

All new techs are actually part of GC 1.21.

No kidding? :SURPRISED: Gosh where is that red faced emoticon when you need it. LOL Okay I stand corrected you can tell I do not Mod Galciv!! :d

Even so, I didn't add them to the file. And obviously, none of the mod techs were added.

Okay I will look forward to the update. :)

I am addicted so bad to this game it is scarey! LOL My site is being neglected and my bedroom where I am now.. well it is a danger zone with the mess in here! :p

Try as I might I simply cannot play with the tech tree in the same way as I would if it were created by using tables in Word. I am in the course of translating the tree into that process but it is quite a difficult process, but it is achievable. When I have finished I will submit it to Java Scout for his comments.

Great to hear! I would like to make it available on my site also if that is okay?

Please let me know when you are finished. Thanks. :) [email protected] or http://www.neotechgaming.com click on contact neotech same thing. We use FTP for all uploads for the moment so either you get an acct and do it or I will. We can link to the file once it is up on my server here. Which makes more sense being most players are not a member of NeoTech. I wish more would register not sure why really. :P

They are like me - I love typing, tables, etc and I am not too familiar with the use of letters alone (I have forgotten the word for the moment)to describe what you are saying. So they are frightened for fear that people will make them feel rather small. By today's standards I am physically small so it makes no difference to me. My youngest son comes for a hug sometimes and he makes me feel half grown (he is 36 now). Now I know someone actually wants what I do best then I will try to hurry along.
Best wishes.

My son is 30 and I live in his home. I know what you mean exactly!

Take your time no rush! Good someone is doing this. Thanks. :D

Desert Fox, I have to report that I am part of the way through but I have recently found a fresh hobby which means that I will have much less time to spare for the computer. The result is that it may be sometime before this is finished. You are welcome to have what I have done so far, if you wish.

Good luck in whatever it is you are doing now. Not using a computer though to hard for me too ever consider. :D

I don't know what I would do with one not finished. Thanks. ;)

You could finish it, if you want to do so. At first it is longwinded but once you get used to it then it is quite easy.
I ran my own business and I bought a computer a few years ago. I can type and the computer was incredibly good. It never crashed, etc - unlike more modern computers. When I retired I had nothing to do so, eventually, I bought a computer, and then another, and then another (the present one) and I played games. Then I saw Come Dancing on television and decided to see whether I could still stand up for a reasonable period of time, and I can! strange though it may sound! As always, one who is converted is better by far than one who is coerced and I am in the first flush of enthusiasm. So I do not play games any more - at least not for the moment.
I danced a few years ago (53 actually) and I have not danced since.
Best wishes. I may get the job done one day but by that time it will be out of date.
