I have tried once or twice to print the excellent tech tree done, I think, by Java Scout(?). I have printed it in one but everything is much too small to see. Has anyone any suggestions? I do know that Word will print a very large tech tree well over A3 size but I can't remember how to do it by using files which have been incorporated. So far I haven't been able to get it to print beyond page 1, which does not contain all the tree. I would love to put it on my board on the wall. I have an A3 printer but to print this particular tree I would need an A2 which I can't really afford now. My eyes are bigger than my belly (which means they are very big), as my mother used to say.

To share my slight problems, getting four lines up the centre between the boxes giving the advances is not that easy. They always occupy more or less the same place, but not quite the same place. If I allow a space of 1.5 cm then it will allow four lines between the boxes, with different coloured lines and different line appearances. It is coming along, when I am not asleep. At the moment I feel like a million dollars - all green and wrinkled.

I have now worked out how to put the four lines in the column almost exactly parallel. At this rate it should only be somewhere between two and ten years before I am finished.

Now I have worked out how to put four lines where one only could be put before (apologies for Jonathan Swift - Gullivers Travellers) - I have now discovered that a different form of line is possible which is better than the preceding line. It also makes quite a bit of my earlier work is now rendered obsolete.

Now I have discovered that I can take a line across succeeding 'boxes', perhaps as many as six or seven at a time. Every time I do something then I learn something else.

The latest on the almost impossible task. I now find that the colours which I thought were shown on the original chart are not the colours that are being produced by my printer (not even vaugely) and I no longer have confidence in colours at all.
It begins to look as though I might never quite finish this.

I suppose its a matter of semantics. AP contains no new tech tree techs to be researched, but the four new ships use 4 new technologies. The four new ships are assigned to existing techs in the tech tree. I suppose tech tree techs are considered new if they are old ones that are changed in the expansion pack. :notsure:

Not sure if it's semantics or not which is why I was looking for an official clarification. Here is another quote from the AP description which led me to believe there were new techs:

"A host of new technologies, many of which make use of an upcoming new civilization ability called "Logistics"."

Now that may just means the new Logistics techs, but those are already in GC 1.22 so it's confusing, to me anyway.

I am afraid that you lost me completely. I am afraid that until my wife looks at the colours I can go no further. She is not that easy to persuade to come into the same room as the computer. I think she might regard it as a rival and try to kill it.

Hi Philip,

you have my sympathy. Many of us made the same experience ;)

It's even much worse when you have children :sniff!:

But at the end it is possible to find a compromise :CONGRAT: A set of rules that works for both of you, like one evening a week, or not after 2 a.m. etc.

It's your hobby and you have the right to have a hoppy.
