I have been told that the cd will be shipped mid-april.

Did you order the CD as a backup, or just to run the game? I've bought the retail version, and I don't need the CD in, it seems.

I downloaded from stardock too. Still no news from the CD. But since we can play without it, and that for me the stardock download/update system is working just fine, I cannot really complain.

Yea i ordered the CD as backup last week, not here yet. I'll give it another week before i start wondering where my money has gone

um, mid april? i was pissed just when i learned i couldn't choose a better shipping option, like 2 day, but having to wait another 2 weeks is unacceptable. maybe stardock needs to work on beefing up professionality, no offense to the game, of course

Sorry about this guys. The CD manufacturing should be done early this week, with the shipment being mailed later in the week (If everything goes according to plan). We were originally hoping to do the CD's in-house, but we got an unexpected surge of CD requests through direct sales, and had to get them off to be mass-produced the other week. Our apologies for the wait.

Will these just be CDs? Hopefully we'll get the same (or better?) packaging that the folks who bought retail got, not to mention the manual. I'm really looking forward to putting the box on my shelf (am I strange?), and not just getting a CD with software that's already outdated. Otherwise, the downloaders have paid more for less...

Anyway, no hurry here. The CD can wait - it's just a sorta-kinda additional backup, after all.

Well, aren't I glad I didn't wait for my CD..... Was gonna as I live in the UK and only have 56k dialup... Fortunately the oportunity came up to work overtime for both days...... cue an entire weekend of downloading

Well, they said they've had unexpected demand for the CD, hence the delay. They also didn't expect the demand to download either. Just how many copies have they sold already? Sounds like bucketloads......

The delay isn't a problem for me - I downloaded the first night it was available - gotta love broadband.

The reason I purchased direct from Stardock was because I was interested in the DVD case that the game will ship in - I hope the overwhelming response hasn't changed the fact that the game will ship in a DVD case.
