Does the order of updates matter ?

I purchased Galactic Civilizations online. I downloaded the 465meg zip file, extracted and installed the game. A CD is being shipped to me.
Next I downloaded and installed the Stardock Central Application. After much frustration I managed to get it setup and to the point I can see and download the updates. As of April 6/2003 5:10am EST I see the following updates in the order listed below:
Name Installed Available Updated
Galactic Civilizations 1.0.0036 ------ 04/04/2003
Multimedia 1.0.004 ------ 02/18/2003
BonusPak 1.0.002 ------ 03/22/2003
Windowedversion 1.01a.009 ------ 04/01/2003
PDF Manual 0.99.001 ------ 03/24/2003
I initially applied the Galactic Civilizations 1.0.002 update as I thought that was the latest and all the others would be included in it. After doing so however there was no indication this was the case. That's fine, each must be a self contained update.
My questions now become:
1) Does it matter what order these updates are installed in?
2) I installed the other updates following Galactic Civilizations 1.02.036, or do I need to uninstall the game and start over?
3) If I need to reinstall, should I start at the bottom of the list with the PDF Manual and then work my in order towards the top of the list ending with Galactic Civilizations 1.02.036 ?
4)Once I have all these patches applied can I simply zip the Game Directory to keep as a backup or do the updates also make Windows Registry entries ?
