...and good to see, that the devs of GalCiv are scifi addicts as well as the players. A Dune and a SW Reference in one! Thumbs up! ;)

Dune... long time no seen... Sting was great as Feyd Rautha, but I also liked Uwe Ochsenknecht in the TV Special! LOL

yes I love some of the humourous quips and references. I almost keeled over laughing when i read the Ceti Alpha V ref in the manual. :)

Its been in Canada. IMHO while it tended to be far more faithful to the original story I found the acting and set quality to be really really bad. Lynch's Dune was a mess in terms of editing anf plot but the acting at times was stellar. To this day Patrick Stewart IS in my mind Gurney, Jurgen Prochnow is the duke (looks more like Paulus the Leto but..).

There's only one thing that's missing from both versions of Dune... Ornithopters that look like birds (because of the name). It's great that its in the games from Westwood, but I want to see movie CGers to try it. In the first one, the wings are just triangles, and in the new one, they look like bugs.

The funniest message I've read so far was the reference to Star Wars when your in the diplomacy screen and you take a look at how the other race views you (and only if your very powerful it says this...)

Let me put it this way, if you say "These are not the driods your looking for." Then they will just repeat what you said. LOL

I can't wait to run by more stuff like this. Makes the game even more enjoyable!

The problem with the droids message is that in reality the trade AI realy isnt that much of pushover when I se the message. By that logic i should say "give me planet X you twinkie". True to form they (in not so many words say) "give me the planet X twinkie", liek good little robot.

I'm in Germany so I won't get the miniseries a long time from now, but I'm looking forward to it! I really like Dune despite all the inconsistencies in productions (the books, the films etc.)... I'm a big Sting fan, too... He's nearly as good as Bruuuuuuuuuce! LOL

If you're talking about the "Children of Dune" miniseries, it was out in the U.S. several weeks ago on the Sci-Fi channel.
