How do you know what modules your starbases have?

I am trying to upgrade several starbases with cultural and resource modules. However, I can't tell which modules are installed and which are available. The only way is to move my constructor to the base, install and see if I have upgrades available. If not, I have to go to another base. This is a huge waste of time. Why isn't there some list of available starbase mods based on your technology? I know the computer knows exactly what mods are available and what can be installed next, why don't I know this?

You do.

Click on the Starbase in question. In the details tab at the bottom right-ish of the screen, click the "I" (Information) button. This will give you a levelled list of bonuses being applied to your SB... click the arrows to show the specific modules causing each bonus.

All that does is tell me what is installed, it does NOT tell me what I can install. So if I have researched 30 techs, and some would give me resource modules, the only way to know what I can add to a starbase is to read through EACH AND EVERY tech to see what I can install, then go to EACH AND EVERY starbase to see what is installed, then cross those off the list.

Too much of a pain. I like the detail of information in the game, but I don't seem to get the right information all the time.

Let me re-phrase. I want a list that tells me what modules are AVAIALABLE to be added to starbases, not a list of what are already installed.

I did, indeed, misinterpret your question. I can now see your problem, although I can't say I've had it myself. Unfortunately, now I don't have any easy answer for you. :(

Part of the fun, of course, is also to find out what new feautures you can add to for instance Starbases, after you researched whatever new. I think this is the X of Xplore. For me it's nice NOT to know in advance what I can add to a Starbase, untill I send a module there to find this out. But that's my vision. It is just a matter how you look at things. ;)

"It's a good thing you're joking, Freya... ".

Me? I am the most serious guy in the world. They say. Since you don't believe me, in the mean time, alt-tabbing between my game in progress and this forum, I ahve mirrored my C drive to TWO external 120 gig USB HD's, so now I'm absolutely sure I don't loose the game. But that part is for another thread. ;) :D LOL

Actually, you just have to go build at one base. Look over the list. Notice any new modules?

I find this works fine for me. It is only when I get some module techs out of order that I miss that I can now build them (The 3rd module in the series before the second).
