Aussie Empire?

Before the release of GalCiv there was a thread on the forum regarding the availability of the game in Australia. After a number of people responded someone suggested that we make an empire of Australian players once the game proper was released.

Were people still interested in doing this? (I did a quick check to make sure someone hadn't already created an aussie empire but could not find any)

Gee - I'm an Aussie, and I've been playing for weeks. Why wait for the stores? Not convinced drenin.net is worth it?

Yep, I get the game at the end of the month... :) . Games Warhouse, you can do direct deposit, so no internet transactions if you want. Can't wait for it.

We could used the Eureka Flag, for the empire, all Aussies would know what it means while almost everyelse wouldn't.

Elden, you can't be serious about the internet credit card thing... I've been charging things regularly over the internet since 94' and have yet to have any problems whatsoever. As for the download thing, find a friend or school with a high speed connection and tell then you'll pay them a couple of bucks to download and burn the game files for you. Problem solved. Quit making lame excuses and get this game! ;)

Tell you what: Aussies who have these problems can send me email - [email protected] - and we will help you.

IF WORRIED ABOUT CC/web -
You pay us (direct deposit into our bank account, or send us a cheque). You provide the registration details you want (we'll give you a form), and we will process your purchase for you. Stardock will email your reg key directly to you - it will never pass through our hands.

IF YOU GOT DOWNLOAD PROBS -
Obviously, we have already downloaded everything. We will burn the software (all current patches etc) onto a CD and mail it to you.

I assume my boss will let us do this for our costs - around $10? assuming you give us all the info and make it easy for us - if we spend a lot of time on it, the price will go up for later customers... (Oh, and I suppose we will have to check to make sure we don't have to charge GST...)

Please be aware though, that until they fix the Stardock problems, you will only be able to get patches if someone (us?) sends them to you - you cannot currently do an incremental download unless you first do a full download.

Anyway, email me if you are interested, and we will check out the details.

You need to get an answer out of Brad about whether the Archive option in SDC attaches your serial number to it or not before you can go burning anyone any copies. He promised he'd look into it quite a while back now and I'm still waiting on an answer... :)

Good to see a few of us have the game and are interested in the idea.

I've created the "Aussie Empire" and have used the Eureka flag as suggested. For anyone wanting to join, it should be on the 2nd page of the "Top Empires" list.

Hey, guys. I am also an Aussie (well, in spirit for my passport still says German ;p ) and I really like your idea. Just one suggestion concerning the flag: Maybe you should use something that is easier to recognise for non-Aussies as well as nicer looking... I don't mean something with the stupid Union Jack in the corner. Maybe the boxing Roo... Anyway, I like your idea! Good Luck and
