Wont enter GalCiv

Since 1.02, I'm entering the program, it's showing a part of the starting animation and brings me back to my desktop. I click back on GalCiv and it shows me another part of the animation and... nack to desktop. Click again, does nothing, I close it and it the program does an error, I have to "End this program" so it closes.

I have WinXP, Athlon 700, 256 SDRAM, 3Gig free out of 20, I downloaded GalCiv from Stardock by clicking "update" on each place (manual, BonusPack, GalCiv...).

maybe you dont have enough free space on your computer? try takeing one or 2 programs down or uninstalling one or two that you havent used in a while

I have enough free space (3Gig).

From what I know, it's not windowed version since it goess full screen.

Other software running: Microsoft Word 2000, Mozilla (one window each)

I had the exact same problem (full screen version, plays first video of colony ship construction then CTD). It was working fine until I applied the "49" version using the de-archive option in Stardock.

The only way I could get it to work was to uninstall the game completely, then reinstall and use the 1.02 full version patch from the website. After that it worked fine. Go figure. ;p

Apparently, it entered when I closed ALL and clicked on a different shortcut.

BUT it actually closed... after 4-5 hours of playing :)
I was on a diplomacy screen and it just closed without warning, the same as if I'd have clicked "quit".
